Man I love this Megasquirt...

It really does rock... I have complete control over my fuel now... no more rising rate crap... haha.

And the damn things starts and idles just fine... I love it.

Lets put it this way... I drive 50 miles each way to work... and today I took the Megasquirt powered Eclipse... :cheers

Glad to hear it. Now about how much was the total for this? Is it running off of your map or running in closed loop (with O2 sensor)?

All turbo cars need a rising rate regulator, even if it is just 1:1.

Technicality! ;)

I'm sure the megasquirt works the same as the eic, but it has a intake air temp sensor right? I head javad from 034efi could add one to the eic for us if we wanted. No big deal, but it's nice for a daily driver. Post some pics of the unit and the software at work!!

Pics will be coming in good time... I'm going to make a web page detailing everything from parts, install, to running and tuning... ;)

The thing trully is amazing...

The capabilities of the Megasquirt go beyond that of the EIC that most people use...

Imagine being able to run your nitrous and your ignition all from the Megasquirt.... thats where I'm heading...

Lee.

It runs off both the VE map and the O2 sensor for closed loop... just like a stock ECU...

I tuned it some more today and now its running better than before!
Especially down in the low to mid rpm range... I love it!

What I really love about the Megasquirt is the ease and rang eof adjustability...

The tuning programs make it very easy to adjust everything and see the effects...

It's soo nice to be able to have complete control of everything... from accel enrichments, to decel enrichments... from closed loop adjustments, to running solely in open loop... from being able to use a wideband... to being able to precisely control every aspect of the injector opening... from both current/PWM to opening/closing time... the thing really does kick ass.

Someone had asked what it cost me... well mine was free but if you had to pay for everything here's a rundown of what you'd need:

Megasquirt: $130 ish
GM Collent Temp Sensor: $9.99 (Autozone)
GM Intake Temp Sensor: $16.99 (Autozone)
GM CTS Pig Tail: $9.99 (NAPA)
GM ITS Pig Tail: $9.99 (NAPA)
Various plumbing fittings: $20.00 (Ace Hardware)
1:1 Fuel PRessure regulator: Around $110.00 (Mine was free... modified Nissan 1:1 regulator)

Other than that not much really other than various cable/wiring.connectors...

A write up is coming! :thumbsup

Oh, and I'll be in Allentown PA in a month or two if anyone wants to check her out... ;)

I'll wait a couple of months before really getting into this. It sounds too good to be true. Headachewise.

Well remember... now have files that will work for other 420a's... yummy.

Thing is just like a gen 6 dfi pretty much. Go do some wideband tuning and rock on!

^^ but a LOT CHEAPER. Thats what really counts for use broke tuners. Wait thats pretty much all us DSM peeps... :(

gen 6 dfi's can be had on ebay for pretty cheap sometimes... but yea, the MS rocks! And most gen 6 dfi's wont accept wideband inputs... or the ability to alter the actual code its running on.

I've been in there website lately and it looks like this fuel controller will work on our car. It's an inexpensive to built and easy to set up than an 8 injector setup that I'm planning to built. There is alot of good thing about this system. First of, you don't have to add 4 more injectors. With this setup, you can use any injectors, really huge injectors with out a problem. When hook up properly, the programming looks simple and it will help you in setting it up because it monitors almost everything that you need to have a proper air to fuel ratio. And it also can graph in real 3d a/f ratio. and it also has a tester built in to it that tells you if there is a problem in the system. There is also a yahoo group to help you when you have a problem that you can't fix. Definately a good investment if your going turbo.

Ummm... yeha it can work on our cars... I HAVE IT RUNNING! LOL

You r points are mostly correct... but you can never use any size injectors you want... the larger you go the harder it can be to get a good idle... because there is a certain minimum injector pulse width that the Megasquirt can control... and at the minimum pulse width the larger the injector the more fuel will flow... beyond a certain size injector you wouldnt be able to get a good odle on our motors... but I think that you'd have to be somewhere in the 1000cc+ range to even get close to that... so it's not really an issue anyway... ;)

I havent been around the board much lately and now I see this megasquirt thing. We really need a write up on how to do this. When I first read mgasquirt I thought it was a soft drink.

BTW...is this thing like DSM link for 4g63's? Is it controlled with a lap top?
