6781, What should I DO ?????
Posted by E_ME_2, Jun-25-01 03:25 PM

As you all know, I have my car for sale.

Its the RS with HRC stage 2 and all upgraded internals.

The thing is im so nervous about have anymore car probs. since I blew my engine the first time. My car is tuned great currently it get to 1600F on the EGT when im about 110mph in 4th.
In all honesty I love my Eclipse but, the fuel system scares me. Have you all heard of anyone who will reprogram my computer to allow for the use of turbo without all that riser crap ?
Im thinking about that Fuel computer that hahn offers..how much is it ? and has anyone tried it?

Sounds like you're fine... Are you running the plain jane HRC fuel system?

If so, you could upgrade the injectors, get a lower-rate riser, retune the safc, and be even safer.

You'll never get away from the fpr in a turbocharged setup. You must have a way to increase the output of fuel through your injectors, and the easiest way to do it is to increase pressure. If you find a stock turbo'd car that doesn't have a boost regulated fuel pressure riser or reasonable facsimile thereof, I'll buy you a beer.

No offense,

But I would not say the HRC system is inadequate. I would say it is as capable as our stock fuel system will allow. If you really have hang ups get the accel, 625, 1:1 fpr combo from HRC. It is VERY accurate and VERY tunable and is a killer fuel system to handle whatever you do. It gets rid of any possible sloppy tuning caused by an adjustable rising rate regulator (the 1:1 is ALWAYS 1:1). Another cheaper alternative is to go with the AFC/440 injector setup. It works very well imo for 15psi ont he street with many people doing it and noone I know of having probs with it. The big prob with our fuel system is the stock injectors are so freaking small.

Are you still using your stock fule pump in the tank? If so try getting a bigger one to use with the hahn in-line fule pump. Cause I know people with the star kits are having problems with fuel pressure and not getting enough fuel. So A few of them use the Fule pump that comes with the star and then they buy the hahn in-line pump, and they've said that there have been no problems since. Also make sure you have big enough injectors, check out http://www.rceng.com/technical.htm use the formula to see which ones you should be running.

He would not need a 2nd pump as he already has the HRC pump. He should look at bigger injectors next.

My sentiments exactly.. i was just too lazy to type it all out. In NO WAY is the HRC fuel system inadaquate.

It really sounds like he has it running okay.. maybe just a tad on the lean side, but within safe range.
