Well after banging my head on the wall for several hours trying to figure out why the hell i was in safe mode my instincts were correct.

1. We dropped back down to Stock Injectors.
2. Went to autozone bought 2 O2 sensors and a MAP sensor.
3. Put on EGR Block Off.
4. Plugged up boost controller vac lines.
5. Ordered New TB Gasket.

First thing we did was went back to stock injectors... we did this because it allowed us to tune from a stock fuel curve. Once we get a little more familour with solar we will up the injects back to 440 or 50#.

I started the car with the stock injectors and as most of you know it went immediately into safe mode... it wouldn't let me go above 4000rpm and i was still running pig rich... This is were i started to get worried.... It was also making the piston/slap knocking noises and I was really starting to think that perhaps we got the timing wrong.

I did a few tests with the MAP sensor that i had in there and it all seemed to work just fine. This night i was so damn frustrated with the car i was talking about parting it out!

The next morning i took the day off work and went to autozone.. picked up a new MAP sensor and two o2 sensors... I tried to order a TB gasket from Autozone, however, they did not have them it's a dealer part. So i went down to the mitsu dealership and ordered the TB gasket.(mine was pritty trashed)....

So I went home and pulled the map sensor out... and put the new one in... started it up and the following happend.

1. No more heavy engine vibration.
2. No more Knocking noises.
3. Not running quite as rich.
4. No longer in safe mode (4000rpm limiter)

This is without replacing the O2 sensors.... those are next....
So this is GREAT news.... The next thing i want to do is figure out why im still idleing high... i idle at around 1500rpm - 2000rpm... I figure i have some sort of vac leak or im even thinking perhaps its that lame TB gasket i have been waiting to replace.

Other then that Solar purrs like a kitten ;)

Things we have updated since the top end rebuild.

1. Took out the fuel cell... (stupid idea in the first place)
2. Put back in stock fuel tank and walboro fuel pump.
3. fixed frame that was cut out in trunk area.
4. replaced dukey IC hose with interwined turbonetic hose.
5. put spot welds on IC pipe to help keep hoses on.
6. replaced exhaust system.
7. replaced neon tubes with LED tubes.
8. ordered 7" wide screen for entertainment (DSM Shootout drive)
9. ordered DVD player for entertainment (DSM shootout drive)
10. purchased Kenwood 800Watt amp for 2 12in kenwood subs. (custom box work being done in the back.
11. purchased new Greddy Boost Controller.
12. bought new set of 440cc injects.
13. Stainless SI Valves.
14. New timing belt.

I have included some pictures.

this might be a dumb question, but all turbo kits ive seen have the turbo/downpipe facing the other direction..is that a custom kit?

Just a suggestion. Get a catchcan. I wish I would have has one when my engine blew. You will prob get blowby anyhow. Nothing worse then having oil all over your nice clean engine.

That was for the radiator lower end.... we welded it with our mig welder but still had a few leaks.... so we put a bit of jbweld on top of it and it fixed the leak temporarly.
