It goes back under the car right next to the fuel tank. I don't have any pics, but I just zip tied it to the fuel lines by the tank and then ran a real long vac line to the intake.

You know what I mean?

So your options are too run a long fuel return line, or a long vac line. I thought the vac line was a better idea.

Plus, why keep the FMU under the hood, aside from the disk there is nothing you can adjust. Might as well mount it out of sight.

well trhey way i looked at it....vac lines deteriorate. i would suggest runnig a fuel return line in the factory mounts..there is space for one more. line is 30 through summit maybe cheaper. Get an ajustable fuel regulator and your FMU or just get the SFMU and put it all under the hood. all you will have to tap off is the fuel line that goes to your fuel rail. you can cut it and run it to your fuel reg and back to the intake. this way you will not have to do much work in the future to upgrade. If you keep the factory regulator inthe back you will have to run 2 fuel lines to and from the FMU.

If the vac line breaks and leaks under your car you will see a vacuum leak.....how many possible vacuum leaks are possible in your car or any car? If a return line leaks it is because you didnt clamp it or because you blew a hose and how easy is it to find that?

That is the approach i took to setting mine up. right now i have two fuel lines underneath while i aquire a SFMU. i used brakelines from the local parts store and wire tied them very tight to the existing fuel lines.

Help this gives you some direction

just too mush corrosion and crap under the car to put sensitive components there imo

So let me get this straight, since I am wrong, you think it is better to have a fuel leak than a vac leak? I disagree, but that is me. I guess if that makes me "wrong" I am.

We don't have to worry about corrosive anything on the roads in southern Texas.

There is nothing "wrong" about mounting it in the back. it works just fine, and is much easier to install. Ideally, yes, you'd run a whole return line, but saying that putting it in the back of the car is "wrong" is just assinine.

Do whatever you feel comfortable with. Both methods yeild similar results on a stock inector car running out-of-the-box boost.

Dino your as sucks buttermilk...lol Or roads are so wonderful here that the chrome on my intercooler pipe has peeled from the salt...nah no corosive roads here. I never said there was anything wrong...he asked my opinion and then chose to argue with it....(shaking head) why bother asking.

put the fmu where you want..in the back in the front, on your lap or even up your.... oops sorry that weasnt nice.

lmao

BTW I live in Florida not salt or corosion just lots of damn sunshine kinda like Texas.I was just curious on what and where you would mount the FMU I bought.Im not real keen on running a fuel line to the front of my car since I didnt buy the SFMU.But Ill take it into consideration for when I do. And thanks every one for repling to this post so quickly. As of the moment Im just runnig a factory rebuilt T3 I picked up from the local yard for $200 until I get my T3/T4 rebuilt and forged bottom end.7 psi and a 1G intercooler will do for now.Im saving for the pistons and rods so I just wanted to get the turbo setup working again.

I second that. it's easier to put it in the back on a 96+, engine bay on a 95.

I like mine in the front. Most stock turbosystems come that way and to me, that just makes the most sense, both in terms of having an accessible FPR to manipulate and adjust, and in terms of pure flow for the fuel system. This is just my opinion, but if the fuel starts to go a little lean due to fuel pressure, or lack thereof, the likelihood seems a lot greater in a returnless fuel system than thatof a fuel fuel feed line with a dedicated return line. A lot of SRT-4 guys, in fact, have to convert their returnless fuel system over to return systems to accomodate system upgrades.

Like most have said, though, in the end, it should be just fine. I'm just getting caught up in my own personal preference.
