Hey everyone. I am going to start pulling my engine this week to get rebuilt for the turbo. I plan on boostin 15+ psi daily w/ the Super 16G. The only thing is that NOBODY supports me in doing this and they all say it's the stupidest thing to do to my car and that a lot of stuff will go wrong when a turbo is thrown into the mix. What do you guys say to this? I want boost SO BAD, but w/ everyone sayin this crap, I don't know if it's worth it going through w/ this project. Thanks a lot! :)

The people you converse with are choad licking, monkey shit flingers. If you have the money, time and mostly effort to make it a worth while venture that you find enjoyable then it's one of the best things you can do your car.

It is way worth it. If you have had your car for a while you will love it all over again. Also you will learn so much more about your car and cars in general, at least I have.

My first mod was an HRC stage 1 kit. I've been happy with my decision every since. It will seriously feel like an entirely new car, and in a way it pretty much is.

don't be discouraged with what people say, if you like tunning cars as your hobby, then do it! i always have people telling me why i spend so much time with my car, and that i spend too much money on it. who cares!!! i love to do it, it's my hobby, and i enjoy making a 140HP car turn to a 300+hp monster that kicks V8 cars asses. then they'll give you the respect and don't talk shit they don't know. do it if you like to do this. yeah it's a lot of money your spending down the road, but it's all apart of it. once you drive your car after it's boosted, you'll see it's a worth it.

Not a day goes by after driving my car that I regret it.

I am so addicted to the boost, it's sad.

An avenger is not worth driving unless its boosted.
Boost the car, or sell it.

Sincerely,
Fellow Avenger Owner.

Who are these people who tell you not to boost? What do they drive? I have a lot of people told me not to turbo and those people were mostly drivers who really know nothing about cars. I am willing to bet that they're talking with just what they think will happen instead of talking through experience. Listen to the guys on this forum, they know from experience that boosting is safe and isnt like playing with plutonium.

Build it, boost it, and be happy. I'd just pay special attention to the auto tranny at 15 psi. I'd figure that a trans cooler, temp gauge, and shift kit are a minimum recommendation.

actually if you compare it with purchasing a new car with the same power it's not that much at all. Plus you can get a 300hp car and pay next to nothing in insurance compared to other cars. I would be paying $85 more a month in insurance if I had a GST, so really the turbo kit pays for itself :)

That's how I like to look at it!

its something you can take pride in man. you can sit back and think about the fact that you build that machine, it kicks ass b/c of you. its a pretty expensive road, i hope you know what your getting into. to safely run 15psi you can expect to say goodbye to at least 5K, minimum, unless you go custom route. your still going to be close w/ building the motor and adding the boosty. good luck though, your in the right place to get assistance.

This is AWESOME guys. Thanks a lot, this is just what i wanted to hear! And you're right, i don't have to listen to what everyone else says because it's something i like and want to do! I've talked to some friends and one of my cousins who all work w/ cars and they've said that a turbo adds a whole new list of problems to deal w/, which they say makes getting a turbo a stupid idea. But im goin to listen to you guys since you have experience w/ turbos. And im also planning on spending at least 6 grand to reach my boost goals. As for the auto, i've read that guys like Shogun have boosted 18 psi on a stock auto. But i plan to use a tranny cooler and temp guage until the auto blows and i have a reason to swap in a 5 speed :)
