Alright expert tuners.... I need your help...

First off i have vaccume leak i know i need to fix.... I also got my EGR block off kit today.... so i will also put that on... my problem is im running extreamly rich... I have the SFMU and a SAFC with 50# injects... I have the largest spring in the SFMU and the second to smallest disc... we are having a bitch of a time getting this thing to idle.... would moving to the smallest disc allow more tunability and do you think it would run better if i droped my injectors to my 440cc's??

Also the car i notice bucks and knocks a bit when running really ruff.. when it idles normal the knocking noise goes away.. is this normal?

first off, a vacumm leak will make it idle like shit. your also going to prolly run the dark silver spring with the seond to smallest disk/ring combo. also gonna have to prolly -50 almost the low throttle settings on the safc. and a bleed valve of the sfmu i would imagine

If you are running rich at idle you need to start pulling fuel. Check to see what your fuel trims are and lower your fp until you get them to reasonable levels. Or if you are using the safc you can pull fuel that way. The spring and disc have nothing to do with your fp at idle.

best time so far 14.3 @ 101.1mph(no traction)
fastest 2GNT with a hitch! until proven wrong...

What's your idle vaccum readings?

Also, you want to have the smallest disk in the SAFC to get the lowest pressure rise under boost...

Takes a while to get the car to run right with big injectors...
Took me a while to get mine running with 450's... which are around 50#.

One question... are your injectors low or high impedence?
If their low you better have a resistor pack...

Sorry Lee, 450cc = 43lb/hr. 50lb/hr = 525cc/min

Phil, if I remember correctly you have big cams right (Crane 16s?). That'll probably make it even harder to idle with bigger injectors than normal. Bigger cams give less vacuum at idle ... ecu seeing less vacuum at idle give more pulse width to the injector ... more pulse width mean more fuel ... more fuel means crappy idle and stupid rich condition. There isn't too much you can do about that IF that is was is causing it especially if you've already maxed out the AFC adjustment. If it idles fairly well I'd let it be and worry about the rest of the driving spectrum. You won't have this issue as long as your moving. :)

BTW, you should also log the car at idle to see what your STFT and LTFT are as well. This will give you a better idea of what you are dealing with.

LMAO... you know I knew the 450's were around 43#... but for some reason when I typed it I typed 50!!!

HAHA, I guess that's what happens when I have my mind on other things...lol

I figured as much ... either that or you are using some strange calculator :)
