Yep, I'm boostin. HRC Stage 2 with the 5psi actuator, I top out at 4psi on the autometer. I LOVE IT, although I find myself freaking out about every little sound the car makes. Oh well, I guess that's all part of it. DAMN, that fuel pump is loud as hell.

My EGT varies depending on how fast I'm going, around town with sedate driving it's around 500-600*C, when I get on it from a stop it goes to around 700-750*C, and when I get on it on the highway it tops out around 800*C. This is ok correct?

The car starts well, and idles just like it did before. Except that occasionally, it takes 2-3 cranks to start...nothing to extreme, any ideas on this?

Passen did a VERY good job on the install, they even typed out a nice little sheet of things to keep an eye on and maintenence. They loaded it on the dyno and did a couple runs. It tops out at 175.2HP to the wheels, which would be around 219 at the crank. Right on with Hahn's claims.

I don't really remember anyone mentioning this but, IT SUCKS GAS. I ran through 3/4s of a tank yesterday. However, it's pretty easy to drive it without getting into boost if I need to conserve gas.

I also experience the occassional starting problem too. I still can't figure out what could be causing this to happen. The @start-up fuel pressure is at least 40psi, as outlined in the HRC manual. Could it be because of the new FPR? Maybe it doesn't build up pressure right away. Does anyone else experience this occassional starting problem?

I have a STAR system, and since my install the car starts up without fail. Might wanna look at the HRC componets, good luck guys. Oh and congrats phrenzy on the boost...welcome to the club!

congrat for the turbo installed! I wondering go boosting or not because I dont like to deal with a load of problems like some of you posted after installed a turbo. But I need for some extra HP, anyway...

Hey, how much did you pay for the installation? around $500?

I never had problems with starting up...even after I cracked my pistons, burnt my valves, and spun a bearing:P And don't pay any more then $500-600 for install. Or else your getting jacked!!!

I too just got a HRc stage one. I have never had any problems with starting the car. it starts up like normal. I was hitting 7psi and I have no idea why? But now I got it down to 6 psi. I unscrewed the wastegate rod a few turns and now it doesnt boost so high. I noticed that it doesnt spool up as easily as it did at 7 psi. I really need an intercooler so I can boost at 7-8 psi. 6 is just to slow for me!!!!

And BTW where do you live? Normaly gauges are in ferenheight (spelling?). Not celsius. Are you in Canada or something?

Many of the Japanese gauges are in Celcius. I would need a conversion table and/or calulator to use those (or one with warnings so I only have to figure it out once).

The problem is you have a stage 2 actuator which is preset for 7psi so I would say your setup is working perfect. By loosening the rod you essentially have created a boost leak by allowing the flapper to easily be pushed open. It spools much slower because it is fighting this boost leak to spool up which would make it feel MUCH slower. It is better than running 7psi wiht no intercooler, but you get the idea. Do you need a HRC sidemount? That owuld be the best solution. I might be able to help you out cheap. I have one in my trunk for the past few months since I upgraded to the ApexI FMIC instead.

Oh btw, I have also experienced that extra time to crank it up, but I never thoguht much about it. It always worked fine.

Yeah, I live in Ohio, but I have a GReddy EGT gauge. It's in Celcius. 900*C = 1600*F, so that means my #4 runner gets to about 1450-1500*F max.

By the way, the manual that came with the gauge was entirely in Japanese....lol
