Where the hell is it? Is this another one of the typical "I'll grow old before the product finally shows up deals?" I don't own a business, but I can't imagine that if I did, I'd run one the way most of these places that offer a product for sale around here do. If you require a deposit, then come through on your end of the bargain timewise, or don't accept the deposit until you are ready to commit to a timeframe that you will honor. Yeah, I've heard this excuse and that excuse and I do realize that unplanned things do happen, this is when you update people and make things right, not just ignore the people. Am I the one out of line here? Let me know. Sorry for the rant.

Honestly, the downpipe hasn't shipped yet due to the fact that I was in a car accident, and my car is in the body shop. The prototype for the DP is currently on my car, but tomorrow I will have it off, and to them. After that it's smooth sailing.

EDIT: also, please keep in mind that you are getting a pretty kick ass deal here. It's not like it's been months or something since the promised date, in fact... as far as I'm aware, it's only been a few days. Relax a little. They've always come through for me, and I'm positive they will come through for you guys

This is what concerns me, the last I heard was they lost the welder. I never heard anything about them not having the prototype to work off of. Also it has been more than a few days, I put my deposit on it around Feb. 23. With Shipment expected to be within 2 weeks. As of now it has not even been started. If I'm the only one who thinks this is lame, then so be it. I do appreciate the update Cereal and your getting this going in the first place.

i totally agree with you man. I am sick of the bull shit when people say one thing and do another! It was the same way with my turbo kit from, guess who, Wyatt. I am not trying to rag on anybody AT ALL, but you kind of get frustrated sometimes when you want something really bad, and they keep layering on excuses. I don't know, patience is tough, especially with $300 custom downpipes!

Yeah. I agree it sucks. A little more communication from them to us may help them to solve a little of the anxiety. They obviously have our email addresses, but so far the discovery of reasons for delay have been due to the customer calling and finding out. In the aftermarket industry good service is really hard to find (at least in my experiences), so I'm not surprised at all that we don't have them and we don't know why.

You guys whine too much. So you put down money at the end of feb. for a deposit in a group buy, and you're upset because you haven't gotten the (custom made from nothing) product already? Jeez. I'm glad i'm not in the business of selling anything, because if i had to deal with customers like that, i'd go out of business. I'd also gove you your money abck and tell you tro shop somewhere else, but that's just me.

It's unreasonable to expect everyone to know this.

Someone should have posted "This is a custom part, so you have to be flexible"

But no. The group buy specified that these parts WOULD ship on a certain date.

Its been since november 2003 since our deal for the pistonsand rods, and still no pistons and rods and still no money back.

BTW: this isnt an attack on AFDX at all (I have never dealt directly with them), I'm just letting eaveryone know Mike Mayfield AKA Cereal5 is a theif and a lier.

Umm, why do you all need a 300 dollar downpipe anyways? I had one "custom" fabbed for ~175 bucks by a muffler shop.. might not be as sexy, but its still a true mandrel 3" dp, flex section, flanges, and deletes the cat and bolts right up to the other side of where the cat "would" be... and it took 2-3 hrs, not months, heh... :shrug

First of all do not attack me on here. I shipped your stuff via the exact instructions you sent me. I also told you I do not check my email. I gave you my phone number, on more then one occasion, and you have not bothered to call me. DO NOT ACCUSE ME OF SHIT. You have my phone number. USE it if there's a concern.

Also, I wanted to add that I'm not associated with ADFX. I more or less just provided a way for you guys to get a group buy going or something. I just happen to be the first person with their downpipe. And I agree that you guys are getting all worked up way too soon. They planned on shipping this week! It's only been a few days! Anyway, I talked to Lateef (owner of ADFX) last night and he seems to think everything is fine and there shouldn't be any issues getting them out early to middle of next week.

I'm not worked up about it. It really doesn't bother me, but it does suck that he keeps telling us it will be delivered by a certain date and then it doesn't show and we find out something has delayed them. Just give us a realistic date and stick to it. Then if something happens, notify the people whose money you have. That's all I ask.

To his credit (or maybe Mike's if he told him about this thread), he did email us today and clarify the situation. I appreciate that.

When you buy things that aren't going to be readily available, through a third party, and over the internet, and its CUSTOM MADE, it could take them months. I wouldn't be jumping into anything. But as far as him giving updates, those are nice. But would you rather them be typing up emails and writing posts, or out in the shop making YOUR stuff?

Not everyone has shops close to them that can (or will) do that kind of thing. I don't and I don't have the time to drive somewhere else to get it done, so I'm relegated to wait for this piece.

I don't know how many of you know the story. Maybe all, but just for clarification's sake. When we ordered we were told they would ship by early the next week. When they didn't, someone on here called and he said he'd lost a worker and that they'd be done and shipped out by early the next week. Well that date came and passed a week ago or so ago and no one has received or heard anything.

Well, since they haven't even STARTED yet, they could be sending us emails or posting b/c it wouldn't be taking away from their time making our pieces YET. He said once he gets started, it will take 2 days.

Like I said, I don't care how long it takes, just give me a realistic date instead of making promises you can't keep. It's not like we expect these 'custom' pieces to be here super quick, but when they quote a week up front and it's been a month, it's a little frustrating. That's all. I'm not complaining, just trying to help you understand the reason some are and I can't say as I blame them.
