Ugh this was not a fun install. Within the first hour we changed out plugs, did a compression test, removed bov and stage 1 piping, fabbed the fenderwell, and fully expected to have this done within another hour or two. After that everything started going wrong...
- First off the mounting bracket that connects to the horn wouldn't align with the mounting hole on the car no matter how much we turned or twisted the IC, so we drilled the bracket hole out bigger and it fit great, no biggy.
- Then the IC piping boot that connects to the inlet wouldn't go down any farther on the inlet hole because it was getting hung up on the hole in the black panel underneath the fuse box. We spent a good 20 minutes trying to make it work but it wouldn't...so we improvised. We had to redrill holes in the bottom of the panel and move it downward so the IC could also move downward a bit (PIA).
- If this wasn't enough, my intake piping would NOT fit. No matter what we did the filter wouldn't go on without hitting the inlet pipe. So we spent a good half hour going through it with a hacksaw. GAY.
All in all I guess I'm happy. I'm still sore from the hacksawing and my lower back is killing me but oh well. Below are pics.
*Looks like a need to clean the rust off that mani and turbine*

*Now THAT'S hot*

*Fender shot*

*Ugh, here's the slightly modded black panel for the inlet. Fuck you panel, fuck you indeed*

*And here's the boot from hell that wouldn't go over the inlet all the way, finally we managed to get it on.*

Special thanks goes out to Uber for helping me out during the wee hours of the morning! Hi Uber! :wavy

Also I had a quick question. My intake filter is touching one of my fan brackets. Is it alright if they're touching or will in restrict air from the fan hitting the engine?

congrats on the upgrade... as far as the filter, just rotate it towards the trans so it's away from the fan.

It is rotated as far as it'll go to save room. Since that hole in the filter is off centered I have as much of pointing away from the fan as possible. Oh well...

Oh you mean make the bend in the intake face towards the trans. I feel like a dope. I just went and adjusted it. Thanks man.

I'll say! I haven't gotten to my MBC yet because I'm not up to working on my car right now so I've been hitting 4 psi and barely creeping up to 5 or 6. But when I'm driving and start boosting then let off, my EGT's will start dropping instead of hovering around the 1100-1200 range like they used to. The car seems a little more peppy during daily driving too. I'm sure I'll notice a huge difference this summer.
