66827, 034 EIC - 8 injector setup Posted by antgriff, Feb-19-04 10:00 AM
I read on the info page that the 034 EIC is not smog legal. So my question is would this pass state inspections and has anyone been inspected; or is this setup only for racing apps? I live in Charlotte, NC and I am interested in this setup. But I don't wontto take the money to do this and then be screwed becuase it would not pass inspection.
Just a concern I have adn I haven't see it in any of the forums yet.
Thanks, antgriff

You will pass a sniffer test, but you shouldn't pass a visual test.
*SHOULDN'T* being the important word.
Find a smog technician that doesn't know a gas cap from a hole in the ground. Trust me, there are many.

I think the 034 EIC probably gives you the best chance of passing emissions than any other turbo fuel system. You roll into the testing station looking nearly stock running on the stock injectors and ECU. If it helps, I've passed NOVA emissions with the EIC.

Thanks everyone. I know that it is legal to have an aftermarket turbo kit but I wasn't sure if modifing the fuel system in this way would pass. This makes me feel better abou the whole deal.

How does the EIC measure up to the E Manage? Is it easier to use?
In the near future this will be a problem for me, fuel that is.

emanage is good if your staying with 4 injectors. eic is kinda a different ballgame. your letting the computer run the primaries, and you add the fuel with the secondaries for the boost. best way imo for the situation we have with our stock ecu not liking bigger injectors.
