ok well, i'm talking to a friend of mine that has a 1g turbo and always tells me that modding my N/T is pointless. i put up with it and tell him that i'll be turbo soon. so tonight i told him that after reading about what a waste of time the t25 is on our cars that i sold it and told him that i bought a sweet t3 set up off of an 84 thunderbird. he says "dude, that t25 would have been way better for your car at 6psi than that t3, you'd be much faster with the t25 than with the t3" he also said that "the t3 would not be efficient at all at only 6psi". so i'm confused right now. does anyone have anything to say to make me feel better about my t3 set up. i'm feelin bummed right now that i ditched the t25.

eh ok, i'm gettin there, but why does the t3 still suck? all i ever saw was how well the thunderbird t3 set up worked, i never saw anything about it sucking.

I don't know. The T-3 is a fine turbo. True, it's not that much bigger than a T25...probably something more akin to a 14b. But in any case, I like it. It's a nice street turbo, and one very nice perk, is that when you upgrade it, if you choose to do so, you can very easily swap in a T3/T4 or a S16g.

that's the exact turbo I'm running :thumbsup It spools quick plus I have the water coolant hooked up so that helps keep temps down. And if you got the adjustable ford BOV I think you'll really like that to. I can't believe how loud it is. ANd like I said...it's adjustable.

and I also have a ford SMIC...that thing must be super efficent because I don't see intake air temps @ 7psi much over what I was seeing with a short ram intake.

wow micyek, i never heard much about the ford bov's or the smic's, tell me more. is it the smic and bov off of a turbocoupe thunderbird, or are they off of a probe or something. i would like to copy your whole entire setup, if that's not a problem! i would love to talk to you more about your set up once i'm a little closer to putting things together. how much did you get your bov and smic for? ok so bottom line, the t3 is not as bad as my 1g friend is making it out to be? thanks in advance.

Well I don't know much more than I already told you. I'm pretty sure that they came off of a mid to late '80's T-bird. I got everything together off an eBay auction (turbo, IC, BOV, and some injectors that I resold) for I think 450 bucks. I've seen a couple of the ICs on there since but I really haven't looked for the BOV's. I'm gonna tell you though it's A LOT of work. making everything fit, fabricating brackets and flanges, coming up with the tubing, ect...but it was crazy satisfying for me when I got it done.
