Posted by siueclipse, Mar-01-04 06:01 PM
just bought one...

i thought i saw somewhere that the missing link needs to be modified. can people tell me their experience with this unit and if anything has to be done to it to ensure it works properly?

thanx
James

someone mentioned that the 1st design didn't have that small hole on the side of it and that he drilled a tiny hole and it helped him. when i bought mine it came like that, and had no issues whatsoever. the only thing i didn't like was those flathead screws that it came with. it eventually stripped and i had to buy socket head bolts.

The ML is a POS IMO.

best time so far 14.3 @ 101.1mph(no traction)
fastest 2GNT with a hitch! until proven wrong...

don't tighten it down too much.. I think they use flatheads so you dont put too much torque on them... cause those small aluminum threads in the intake manifold are easy to strip if your not thinking about what your doing.

if yours has a hole in the side of it, make sure to see if it leaks through there. I guess some come with that dunno why though. but it is a source for a possible vacuum leak.

It's just a 1/32" breather hole. It's too release any excess pressure in the ML. I think mine may be acting up a bit. I'll probably clean it off this weekend and see if that helps.
