ever one used the one that came in the kit. I used a dremel to shave the nut down a bit. It fits on its own but it works. But then again...how many different ways can you stick a nut on a stud? :shrug

its easy to get on. pull the radiator to get at it.

it BARELY fits, the idea is to push it flat against the dp flange then guide it over the stud and start to thread it, not slide it over the stud and try to wedge the nut in, check this out...the scratches are because its so close it actually rubs (DUMB IMO)....use the HRC shit, but check this picture out:

edit: DONT LISTEN to this dude, you dont need to do this

Another reason I'm glad I've got an Avenger! We've got like an additional 2" between the turbo housing and the radiator fans. Make my install a BREEZE! But yeah, just hold the nut flat to the flange and wrench it on.

A crows-foot wrench, 1" adapter, and socket wrench will let you tighten the bolt without removing the radiator. A crows-foot wrench looks like the head of an open-end wrench cut off and put on a socket wrench.

The easiest way to put the bolts on the downpipe is to start with the bottom bolt. Basically, you want to use a short open end wrench and lift the downpipe up slightly. Tighten the bolt while you shimmy the downpipe. It takes time and patience but is not hard to do.
This can all be down without modifying the nut. If you shave off alot of the edge you may have problems with the nut coming off or being loose as there are cuts (grooves) in the bottom of the nut to help lock it in place against the downpipe.

lol, you guys are great. good advise on most of it. i didnt intend on having the guy pull the radiator to install the nut. i just told it its easyer. i had the radiator out for my rebuild, and that nut was the best part of the whole damn project. thank you
