I am sick of the gay hickups from no boost to boost. Can I just put a 4.7V zener diode from the map sensor signal to the ground?? Would I have to worry about frying anything. The other thread was talking about simple solutions well this is the simpleist I could think of.

zener diodes are harder to find in values too far from 3 volts. the natural voltage zener diodes want to function at is around 3 volts. this initial condition makes it more expensive to begin with.

second, you'd have to find a zener diode made with the right accuracy. since a zener diode is chemically very similar to a transistor, depending on things like tempature and current draw the exact voltage level where the zener diode clips at can change.

also, zener diodes only come in cetian pre-manufactured voltages.

i just did a brief search on DigiKey, they have diodes with voltage raitings of 4.3 and 4.7 volts. those are the 2 closest values.

4.7 volts is kind of high. i usually get fuel cut between 4.65 and 4.67 volts.

you're welcome to try it, i don't think it's a good idea mainly because there's too much room for error in this "use 1 discrete component to solve the problem" solution.

I use a Zener diode... works perfectly...
But you need to pick the right walue... I limit my map signal to around 4.55V.

Well I fixed the hickup. I used ner's method I could not find a suitable zener diode.
