I just need verification of something. If I modify an internal wastegate actuator rod like in this link, won't I be able to adjust the boost by using different preloads? Like if I tighten the nut, it would cause more preload on the actuator, and open sooner and lower boost. If I loosen it, it will open later and raise boost. If this is the case, I wouldn't need an MBC to go along with it would I? In my head, it seems like it would work. I just need some other brains to tell me if it won't, and why.

yes, it will work, but the higher the preload, youll get more spikes, and the lower the preload, the longer the spool-up time will be (the wastegate will begin to open very early, letting exhaust gas by, taking longer to reach full boost).
an mbc can be had for less than $30 or DIY for less than $10.

A friend of mine gave me an MBC, I was just wondering if I was thinking correctly about that. I plan on trying to get the wastegate actuator down to about 3psi, and run somwehere around 6-8psi on the MBC.
