Good news!

We got the head back, I even was able to get the old valves back to see them was funny they had the "tulup" *sp* effect. They did a complete valve job put new SI valves and seats/springs etc in. and above that it's already port/polished.. they took a hell of a lot of metal out of the ports compared to before and after pictures...

Meanwhile we where able to get the dampner pully off, after purchasing the puller from autozone.. it worked like a charm. We pulled the rest of the broken timing cover off and cleaned up that entire side of the engine. While we went to pickup the head we stoped at a local performance shop here in utah, and asked about fuel cell's and NHRA rules...

NHRA will not let you have a fuel cell PERIOD they are prohbited in the compact sport class.... so we took the fuel cell out and began putting the old one back in place... we are going to make some custom fabrication to it, however,... We are still going to use the same inline fuel pump and hook all the evap sensors back up.. Yay now i will be able to tell how much gas i have left...

I feel more comfortable with the fuel tank back in anyhow... I can do more with the rear of my passenger compartment. I think you guys will all like what we are doing to the engine compartment.... We have cleaned it up quite a bit.

We also just purchased the new Greddy Profect Boost Controller... The machine shop also notified us that the valves would have caused most of the symptoms we were experiencing back in October.

In all reality we are about a weeks worth of work before we are at a point we can start the engine up, however, time and funds set us back about 2 weeks...

I also plan to talk with Motofool a little more about purchasing a wide band to tune solar a little more indepth rather than spending bundles of money at the dino... I still plan on taking her to the dyno just don't want to hook it up to the fuel/air stuff...

any suggestins??

Did you get my email regarding the EVAP system/removing it? To be honest I'm not even sure thats what it is... Just that whole box behind the pass side headlight...

1.) how do I remove it safely
2.) ... well I guess thats it.. lol

Just rip out everything you can find and cap off any vac lines you come across... I didn't have a plan when I did the EVAP removal, nothing tricky or I would probably remember something about it.

Hmh... That sounds about right. Heh.

Did you have to remove the bumper to access anything? I'd imagine removing the bumper would be a pain in the ass... (Only times I've ever removed bumper = i've just torn it off haphazardly with no regard for the condition of mounting holes..heh)
