How hot does the manifold and flange get with a hahn stage 2?I was just wondering because the have the duplicolor high temp paint with ceramic that is good up to 1200deg.I was also thinking of seeing what it would look like on the piping.

lol, crusing on the interstate, my egt's are around 1400. max, mine goto about 1525.

gets hot enough to give you an instant 3rd degree burn after sitting for 45mins....god did that hurt ;(

thermo-tec has a line of high-temp spray coatings in different colors. they are rated to 2000 F.

no, the paint will char and eventually peel off.. you need something that will withstand radiant temps of 1700*

I used silicone based spray paint that came with my heat wrap. I just sprayed the downpipe and it seems to be fine. High temp paint does not have a gloss to it, making the part get dirty quick and just look like a bigger turd. ceramic power coating is usually the best way to go.

The paiont would be fine on the pipes, but not even stand a chance on the exhaust manifold.

I painted my mani and turbo in Dupicolor high heat black and all my intercooler piping in Dupicolor high heat red before I installed my turbo kit. The IC pipes are fine, they don't even get hot, that's why they're IC pipes! But the temp of the mani sorta "burnt" the black paint on the mani and turbo. It looks kinda brownish-black now. It's not a bad look compared to some of the rust-burnt color engine pics if seen on this board, but it definately did NOT stay a nice glossy black. A can of paint is 4 bucks, I say go for it.

Copper spray a gasket stuff worked great for me for over a year now. Still Looks nice and grey..

If your looking for a great finish and something actually performance oriented then get the manifold/whateverishot ceremic coated. this will reduce your engine bay temps from 30-50% and will help keep that heat inside and spooling your turbo. i'm getting ready to have mine sent off and jet coated(www.jet-coat.com). you can also have it done by www.ffwdconnection.com but i'd steer clear of anythingt thats silver/polished at turbo temps(1400-1650 deg) b/c most will not hold up. expect 100-200 bucks to have this done but its definately worth it.
