64985, new kit soon to be out
Posted by 98hockeyrs, Feb-09-04 08:46 AM
Well boys and girls there is a new kit boosting up here for our cars. Its a garret T25 ballbaring, with a 2.5 downpipe, front mount, bov, new fuel pump, air intake, boost gauge, internal wastegate, all the piping, gaskets and other goodies. right now i am being used as the Demo car. the first problem we had was that the turbo didnt fit in an air condition car so since i never use mine and its a waste of weight i had it ripped out. but they are in the process of redoing the exhaust manifold so that it will work with AC. there has been some other minor problems like the intercooler pipe is to close to the raidator and was rubbing but that has been fixed. Here is a link of some pictures http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/360596/4. if you would like to see more or other angles let me know and i will see what i can do. and please ask all kinds of questions or bash it all you want. this is new and i want to know what everyone thinks.

Looks nice, I thought that was a stock 4g63 manifold at first hahah. Hopefully it'll be a really beefy manifold since its cast. What's the wall thicknesses on it?

What is the fuel system like?

A T25 is too small a turbo for me, but its super cheap since all the 2g 4g63 guys upgrade away from it... so the kit should be totally inexpensive.

Who wants a T25???

Plus the kid only has 8 posts, sounds like he’s plugging either his own product or is just a walking talking advertisement.

Drool......FP green

Yah it looks too much like a 4g63 (1g version imho) manifold..could it be that its a cut/weld job??

no thanx. i really wouldn't recommend to anyone they should run a kit that has a T-too small in it.

I thought the T25 was good for a quick spool and was efficient up to 13-15psi. Since the 420a blows up at around 10psi what is the problem?? If a person requires 15+ psi wouldnt a T28 drop right in place of the t25?? Am i wrong, i really dont know much about turbos.

that DEFINATELY is not a "production" kit...

That actually looks like the exhaust manifold out of an early 90's daytona shelby, the one with the 2.2 in it. Hummmmm, I wonder? Time to visit the junkyard!!>:]

it's a 4g63 manifold cut and welded on a 420a flange

it's obvious on the second pic you see a chanfe of color in the runners

Damn man, how many people have actually come on here claiming a new turbo kit for our cars? Truth is any schmoe who knows what he's doing can put a kit together. Star and HRC will be the only full kits that can be commercialized. Every time someone comes on here claiming they're business is starting up they do one of two things. 1) Take the money and run or 2) somehow really fuck you over with the products. Either way you're just bending over and biting your tongue. And plus....kids a NOOB! ANOOBUS. ANOOBERIO, ANOOBEROO, ANOOOOBODY!

Dino WTF R U saying here? LOL

that doesn't look like a "Kit" at all! It looks like a stock manifold with the heat shield removed and fuckin turbo bolted to it.

Still it doesn't look like a "kit" but our stock exhaust manifold has been used many times for custom turbos, but why do this when you can buy Alain's turbo manifold

I'm sure it's safe to buy as long as you're using your NER brand condom. :+

did anyone notice the turbo intake going to the valve cover? that would be nice to have blowby rushing through your ic pipes and turbo

kudos on getting it boosted but there is no way that will be a production kit. And nice gauge cluster:

kinda funny how every bashes this kit,

if this kid works out all the kinks, and somebody wanted a cheap turbo kit, that looks ok, and proably has okay quality, still wanting to run stock internals, this wouldnt be a bad route.

it utilizes a ball bearing t-25 turbo, talk about perfect spoolup for scca or quick hwy battles. remember, alot of 4g63 boys have broke mid 13s on a well tuned motor, most of us saying t-too small, cant even break 14s on a s16. so dont bash something new, that somebodys trying to work out, it very well wont be a mediazed or popular production kit, but it has potential.

this guy needs to list a estimated price, something this basic, i think should be around 11-1500, i know this would be a great alternative for the part time weekend racer, that doesnt have 3g to dump in a mass produced kit.

just my .02cent, and something to think about

good luck with kit.

i spent almost 3g's on a star kit, and didnt have the time or the resources to install the damn thing, so i sold it and got 2100 for it(it was slightly used, but looked BRAND new). obviously, buying that kit wiped me out, so no chance for upgraded bottom end(sorry, but not a lot of 18 yr olds with full time jobs and part time school have $3000+ to spend on a turbo kit). only wanted to boost about 4-5 psi, and didnt plan on going any higher than that.

with all that jibberish said, id pay for this guys kit, since its such a small turbo i wouldnt have any problem boosting how i wanted.

however, there were a few good facts pointed out as problems with the kit, but when they are worked out and properly tested i may just look it up.

and to the guy thats selling it..... i just hope you know that this kit cannot compete with hahn or star... sorry it just cant.

in other words, if the price is not right, then you will have no luck sellin it. and in my opinion, i think you really do need to change up the manifold before you start "production" on this kit.

Those 4G63's running the t-25 aren't playing with 5-7 psi though like we are. Aren't they running 11-12? Put that in a well-tuned 420A as well with the same internals and see what it pulls.

All in all, I would never buy a custom kit that wasn't properly tested and developed. Good luck making it though dude!

Bill Hahn had to get started somewhere. Even the first HRC kits had to have kinks worked out with them. As for the 5-7psi thing... I don't think that 5-7psi in a 4G63 motor is the same as 5-7psi in our stock motors.

its not, hes a noob ;)

we could actually push 9-12, well tuned with a good compression 420a, with the bb t-25. hell 3 years ago and this kid came out with the kit, and i couldnt afford hrc's, id be interested.

as far as hp times are concerned, i willing to bet that this kit, would be dead even with a hrc stage 1 kit, at similar boost levels, with drivers, of similar skill.

Well i think he worked hard to make a kit for himslef and did it pretty well. I have done a lot of welding and cast is pretty difficult to do. You hve to use nickle rods and know what you are doing. I give him credit for the cast welding...takes a lot of practice to do that...i would know..been there done that many years ago.

The funny thign is many memebers on this board think they are experts and have told me you want weld cast.....idiots you know who you are.

At least give the guy credit for putting in the work.

I never bash anyone for learning and doing the work themselves, takes a lot of iniative to do so.

cudos to his work, if he did it! but hes not pimpin out his work, he came on sayin there was a new kit soon to be out, and we all look hopin for sonething like chill factory or along those line. BUT, instead we see this bastardized custom hack job that looks like warmed over poo at best. it aint no kit, its a custom job! if he said "hey, check out my custom turbo kit" then maybe the replys would be sutable, but as it is....
