I searched and found different ways to torque the head studs. How can I correctly torque them to 90lbs? Thanks

did you type in ARP head studs? i know its there, i just used it myself about 2-3 weeks ago. Do you have a manual?

#1 is the bolt closest to the exhaust in the center of the head. #2 is the one above that. #3 is the one to the right of #2. #4 is the one below #3. #5 is the SECOND bolt to the left from #4 on the exhaust side. #6 is above #5. #7 is the outermost bolt on the top on the driver side. #8 is below that. #9 is the outermost bottom bolt on the pass. side. #10 is above that. Done. torque each to 50 ft/lbs first, then to 70, then to 90.

Start from the center and work out, just like you're torquing stock bolts. GO in three steps.. 50, 70, 90. Recheck after a few heat cycles.

I know the order and the how to torque them when stock. I was curious as to how much lbs to apply the first step then the second time and then the third time. Thanks

90-100 ft/lbs is good. The instructions from ARP say 60 ft/lbs. That's weak. 90 should be good. I torqued them 20 ft/lbs at a time. 20, 40, 60, 80, 100, in the order found in the overhaul manual.
