I know bad question i guess...

But i went to a link of someone's posted and listend to his engine rev and heard his BOV... This indicates boost right? How would I get mine to be able to do this?

Like in fast and the furious (bad example i know) you hear him rev at the starting line and can hear the bov.. It sounds intimidating as hell... I only hear my BOV when i was in motion.. Would it have something to do with my tial
wastegate?

you can rev it and make your bov go off, but u cant actually boost the car sitting there. u have to build boost/have a load on your car to see boost. if u cant hear it just sitting there and reving, maybe rev higher? also, if u just start your car after letting it sit all night in the cold and rev it, u might not hear it. atleast that what happens on my car. too cold out. let it sit until your temp goes up/fully warm, and try it then? still might be too cold though. i have to do that, then drive around some. then ill hear it.

I can't hear mine when I rev either. I'm still using the 3000GT bov so maybe my exhaust just drowns it out.

it also depends how high you're boosting. when i used to be at 7psi, i barely hear an idle swoosh, then after i ready to up the boost to 10psi, i started to hear it more clearly. and this was with a HKS standard. now being at 18+psi, and with greddy type-S, it's sounds awesome. loud as hell! then when i did the Jeep TB mod and port and polish my intake manifold, oh man was it even louder. so it all depends on how much idle air your building up.

The easy way to do it if you can't get it to happen without revving real high is to just add some load to the engine... i.e. let the slutch drag slightly so that it adds a little load to the motor... works a charm... especially when your on a hull behind someone at some traffic lights... heh... :thumbsup

Yeah you should be able to hear your BOV when you rev at idle. I do and I love it. -=D

Yeah, if you rev above 5k it should open and let out a little air.

My cousin met this guy over in Colorado who bought a brand new Evo and dumped about 10k on his car within the first month that he had it. I guess he had some type of nitrous or co2 running to his turbo with a switch to spool up while he was at idle. I thought the idea was kinda cool, but I don't know if it is true now that I heard that you need some kinda load to trigger the BOV. Could it be true and would it be worth exploring??

Why does it matter if you can blow off free revving?

The fact that people are even concerned with that sickens me. Did anyone here get a turbo kit because it sounds cool? If you did, sell it. There are other people out there that can make better use of it than you.

Dood you missed the guy who asked me in chat if cp pistons, crower rods, new crank, etc. would allow him to boost 30lbs. When asked why, he answered- Because the BOV would sound soooo coool at 30 psi.
