Last night we gutted the entire engine compartment and cleaned almost every inch of it. We installed SI Blue wire covers and made it look very clean. I have pictures, however, i'm switching T1 line providers and should be able to upload them to dsmpride.com in a day or two.

The head with SI valves should be done friday evening... We also went to AutoZone and rented the universal threejaw puller for the crank pully.

I have also ordered a new timing belt just to be on the safe side. Once we have the new head back we plan on putting it together to the point where we can just drop it in. Our goal is to make it so that we can unplug the sensors in a hurry and pull the engine in and out with out much of a hassle. After pullng the axles that is.


We have run into a problem... NHRA requires any car that has a fuell cell and a battery in the passenger compartment be seperated by a metal bulkhead.

Any idea's? We plan on having the car up and running in less then a month, however, don't plan on driving solar until it warms up to at least 50 outside...

So build a bracket to allow you to hang the fuel cell outside the car, underneathe, right where the stock tank used to be. keep the battery in the trunk. A floorboard is a metal bulkhead.

Good suggestion, however, one big problem with that! How would one put gas in it if it is underneath the car?

how do you put gas it in normally?

id rig it up to use the stock fuel door area...

I don't know if that would work, we may build a metal bulkhead around the fuel cell with a door similar to the one under the seat and have it spring loaded or something...
