6472, I want to turn down my boost Posted by guest, Jun-19-01 01:42 PM
My car is a stage one and it is hitting 7psi. I want to turn it down a bit. Can I put on a manual boost controller and do this? Where does the boost controller connect and how does it work? I can't keep running 7 psi without an intercooler. I want to be safe!!!!

You should be able to add an MBC by installing the boost controller between the actuator and compressor, thus eliminating the hose that comes with the turbo. Just a thought.

MBC will not let you drop your boost below your 7psi (WG spring rate), you will have to get different WG spring to drop your boost.

Take the wastegate screw out (on the top middle).....that should put you around 4.5psi

No, he is not. He is referring to the external delta wastegate of the STAR kit.
You can not turn down the boost from a present wastegate at 7 psi with any manual boost controller. You need another wastegate.

My fault. I thought you had the stage one 5 psi actuator; in that case, you could only turn up the boost with an MBC (oops).
