Hey guys, I just got my taxes done and im finaly going to get my turbo. I need to know what Do i need besides the Kit to get the Turbo up and running. Will My ATX be able to handle it. Or do I need to get some work on the transmission first? Also is a AFC recommended. I just dont want to end up with a car parked in the garage. Its my daily driver and I cant afford to have it blowup one me.. Any input would be great

You do know that your gonna be adding approx 6psi of pressure on top of you stock pistons and rods, its gonna blow up eventually, thats what happens when you boost a NA car without a rebuild first. To answer you questions though, your ATX transmission will hold fine, theres no need to rebuild it if theres nothing wrong with it now. As long as you buy a kit, such as Hahn (which is pretty much all that is left to buy), it will have everything you need. Depends if you want to go stage 2 or not. If your just gonna stay at stage 1, with 6psi of boost, and your stock injectors, then theres really no need for an safc. It might help to lean out the injectors a bit, but by no means worth spending the $260 on it (I already made that mistake). But don't be completely scared, if you keep a good eye on your gauges and make sure your EGTs are not above 1600 degrees. your engine should last you a while. Just make sure you get good compression numbers in all cylinders before you go purchasing the kit.

The stock ATX in good condition can handle a stage I kit. I've essentially been running stage I boost on a mostly stock trans for 3 1/2 years. You will want a trans cooler. Universal units will be fine. Just don't beat on the tranny and you'll be fine.

Yeah I use the search but couldnt find anything. I guees I didnt look hard enough. n e way thanxp for the input... So I need to worry more about the engine than the transmission.

just install a HRC kit correctly, dont boost more than 8 psi if you get the stage 2 kit and dont do burnouts and you dont really have to worry about anything.

So what is recommneded that I do to the Engine To avoid a serious prob..Im prilly getting the intercooler in 4 months. To avoid any compilcations. I will just work on the engine first

If you run stage 1 boost and watch your gauges, you'll be fine. A properly tuned stock motor can take 5-6psi until doomsday, you'll never blow it up. Anyone who kills a stock motor on 5-6psi either didn't install the kit properly, or never bothered to tune it.

I would say if your worried about your motor lasting just go for the stage 2 system with fmic. The fmic and larger injectors will keep your car very happy.
