No it's not necessary. Would be a good idea to have one though, as to direct that exhaust gas out of the engine bay. But for temporary... it's fine.

your car will sound like a jet though. I remember Wyatt showing us a clip of the first ever star kit in action with the dump tube vented into the atmosphere and that motherfucker was lound and intimidating. It made me want an external wastegate. It really doesn't make any performance difference at all.

I wouldn't say that exactly...
With no dump tube, all exhaust gas is let loose in your engine bay... which does nothing for underhood temps. Are cars run hot as it is... so yeah. Dump tube would be a good idea, IMO.

SO hot it on with the other bolt. Drill that one out.
Ya know, i never used the dumptube bolts that thread into my wastegate. I just used a nut and bolt small enough to fit through the hole... so drill the thing out and do that.

no kidding? Wyatt's dump tube was routed towads the bottom of the car, but he didn't get it welded back to the dp until later on.
