64270, Safe EGT's? Posted by TXTurboGS, Jan-29-04 03:08 PM
I am dyno tunning pretty soon. I have a wideband O2 sensor and I more or less know that I should be shooting at 11.5 AFR. I will be tunning the car for 16-18 psi of boost (91 octane) for daily driven use and for 20 to 25psi for track use, using 100+ octane fuel. I have the 440cc injectors, emanage, profec B, and SFMU to tune the car.
I have read some many mixed opionios to what a safe EGT is that I do not know who is wrong and who is right. Right now my EGT do not climb to more than 1350 F at WOT and 16psi of boost. Still, I run way too rich, I am talking about lower than 10:1 AFR.
So, what temp. should my EGT's be at at WOT? I saw that Siueclipses raised up to 1600, but I think that is too much. Thanks for the help.

1600 is a def max to not go over. Generally, if you are at the proper A/F ratio for your set boost, 1525-1550 is a good range.
