Hello. I've been on your site for a while...just don't post much here.. Mostly on ASEC and ASOG..anyway, as the topic says, I just got an already turbo'd Avenger..just need some tuning pointers...kinda new at this turbo thing. this is NOT my daily driver either...just street legal. Previous owner had plans of 22psi..never got above 15 yet. I just want this thing to be at the potential the engine is made for. It is built to withstand ALOT of boost...just needs some change/tuning.
Shoot me your ideas...I'm open for whatever...also I posted here. http://www.aseclub.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=20598 http://www.asog.net/viewtopic.php?t=57932
Current setup:
420a bored .020 over JE pistons Crower H-beam rods strenghened crank P&P head 7-angle valve job Mopar Performance head internals(everything but the cams) 30lb injectors Vortech FMU...I believe 12:1 disk...not sure yet Apexi S-AFC ( only used for monitoring) Walbro 255 pump missing link High pressure fuel lines custom equal length tubing exhaust manifold to turbo FMIC...not sure on size yet T3/T4 50 trim, rebuilt internals 2.5" exhaust(will be 3" soon enough!!) HKS external wastegate..6lb baseline Blitz BOV "homemade" boost controller...it's under the hood though. EGT gauge boost gauge oil pressure gauge A/F gauge (not connected right now)
Currently "tuned" at 12psi...previous owner had it at 15psi w/ NP OH yea...it's a 5sp and will have a SPEC clutch soon also
thanks in advance...

Well one thing I see is you'll need is bigger injectors. Get at least 440's... actually for 22 psi you'll need bigger ones I think. But you're bottom end is strong enough I'd say.
EDIT: The only thing holding you back from 22 psi is fuel. Get the injectors, but you'll also NEED a SAFC or similar device to get it to even idle nicely. Just run a search. Good Luck... looks liek you got a monster there..... how much did you pay?

Yea...I was thinking about 40lb injectors...or going the 8 injector route...I don't have a garage or know any good shops around here yet...I always did most of my own work..but somethings need prof. assistance, like dyno and "good" tuning.
I have a SAFC...but not using it right now...as it idles fine now.
Keep um coming guys.

Your right about it idling fine now, but I think it's when you go to 40 # injectors or more than the problems start coming. I may be wrong, but at least you have it so if you need to trim it out you'll be fine.

Go with the 8 injector setup for sure. I am running 22 psi right now on a set of stock injectors and 30lbs in the secondaries. You can build a megasquirt for about $100, then you just need injectors, fuel lines, a rail and a fpr. If your going to run anything more than 15 psi I would not do that on a rising rate fpr. Sell the SFMU and buy a standalone EMS or build an 8 injector setup.
Lotsa good info here http://megasquirt.info
I love my 8 injector setup! :7
