Yup, a rebuilt alone can cost up to $250, why not just pay $400 to have it converted to a 20G!:thumbsup

keep in mind that the hrc turbos do have some shaft play.. oil goes around the shaft to keep it staight.

3 inch downpipe and/or turn up the boost
how much power do you want to make? no use in spending the money on a 20g if you're not even going to use it to its full potential imo _________ 96 talon esi-t san clemente, ca

Yup, if you send your turbo them, they'll convert it to a 20G.

well, i may go with the 20g option. i am actually using this for a big project i have with a dodge avenger. using the 4g63 and the awd drive train swapping it all into my avenger.
and that car is heavier so i will need as much as i can get to make it go good.
other things i will be doing include bigger injectors, fmic, equal lenth header, high pressure fuel pump, then when i get everything done and in the avenger, i will start building a 6 bolt for it while i am using the 7 bolt.
sounds fun huh??
jason........ by the way, what kind of lag would the 20g give me in comparison to the 16g???
thanks

thats a nightmare waiting to happen my friend. dont even attempt to make a 4g63 avenger AWD.
16g supports around 450hp i *think* if you're not going to go over that, dont upgrade the turbo. you will be wasting the 400 when you could have used that on a sick ass downpipe and ported exhaust manifold or something
think logically here, if you have a turbo...you can make power with that

I agree with ^^^. don't upgrade the turbo until you've reached the full potential of the one you have (or plan on reaching it soon)

16g power falls way off around 325-350 on our motors. why not run a 20g, the star kit utilizes a t3t4. which in theroy a average turbo 2gnt will never use that turbos full potenital:shrug

ok... i have already started on the project.. i have a donor gsx, have all the info i need to get it done, and have the turbo. all it needs now is to get in there with a torch, welder, and make it happen... only big change comming is a lengthened driveshaft due to the avenger being longer, and the engine mounts being swapped... the wiring is no problem, all i gotta do is use the whole harness from the eclipse, and that all will work no problem.
also i have an equal length header already that i am gonna mod, and port myself, and i have a ported 02 housing comming soon.
with bigger injectors, high pressure fuel pump, and a few other upgrades here and there.....
the question is still there... big16g rebuild kit or convert to 20g??????

send it to any large turbo manufacturer and have 18g internals installed if you want a sleeper.
remember guys hrc uses a t3 flange and a normal 16g does not.
so hrc may not take the turbo becuase its nota SUPER16g

Most powerful 16G on the planet(commercially available).
I would just send it to HRC or another vendor and have it converted to a 20g. The sleeper is for those trying to claim they run a 16g.

make sure HRC will even take it since they deal with s16g that super not small
which have a garret t3 exhaust housing.
PTE, turbonetics.com, pt, majestic, and more.
