i have one of the manifolds you made for Motofool, one that collent previously had and i was wondering how hard it would be to drill into the number 1 runner and tap for an egt. how thick is that metal and is it a cast or just thick pipping?? TIA, btw this manifold seems very sturdy and very cleanly made

grab a drill bit and a tap and have at it.

the wall thickness should be strng enough to withstand a egt bung

or take it to a muffler shop with your egt bung and have one installed. shouldn't be more then 50$

your sposted to tap the #4 runner

you could drill right into the pipes no problem they are thick enought
just be carefull to not drill too big and end up with a loose probes

for 1/8 NPT you need to drill 11/32 start with a very small bit and enlarge it, you will need cobalt bits to do it right

personally I like to add a metal ring on runner 4 to make the pipe thicker , because some egt probes have lots of threads

It won't make that much of a difference which runner it's in. I have mine between 2-3 this way I get a nice average of those three cylinders.
