since the intercooler cools down the turbo so it doesnt burn up or whatever.... is the stage 1 kit dangerous? this is just a question someone asked me and i wasnt sure. i was thinking that you just wouldnt boost at high levels, but the turbo is still spinning just as fast right?

sorry, i know i sound stupid to you guys so will someone give me the facts on this.

You will be fine as long as you dont exceed 5-6psi. Follow HRC's guidelines and you'll be safe. Yes, an intercooler would be better but at 5psi its straight.

You got it wrong man. the Intercooler cools the air after it has already gone through the turbo. It cools the air so that it isnt to hot entering the engine. Cooler air is more dense, making more horsepower.

intercoolers do not cool down the turbo itself, just the air that passes though it.

They make liquid filled intercoolers too, that "chill" the air before it enters the throttle body. It is crazy awesome, but it generates a lof of condensation, esp. during the summer, which in turn results in rusty parts. Still neat to see if you ever get the chance.
