62424, Clocking Turbo.....

My intercooler has the inlet and outlet on opposite sides and I think it would be easier to make some pipes for the inlet if my compressor outlet was facing down. Can I just take out the snap ring and turn the compressor housing where I want it or is it more complicated than that. I know I'm gonna have to custom mount the wastegate acculator. I just want to know what I have to do to clock it and not damage anything.

just like you said, clock it, and make the wastegate operational. and get the holes that used to hold the wastegate on, shut.

i'd just get custom intercooler pipes, whats the difference?

on this hand we have the piping headache ---- and on this hand we have the wastegate and clocking headache

not worth it imo, just get custom pipes made, easy enough

to clock the compressor housing, you need to undo the clip holidng it on. then grind off the locator tab on the housing, then you can put it back together. it would cut down on the lower intercooler piping length, but i doubt it would help you that much in the hp dept. now off to find another beer

Clocking the turbo is so easy. Made piping a million times easier. My turbo had extra holes to mount the wastegate in case you want to clock it.

what turbo do you have? just remove the compression ring and turn the compressor housing. its that easy. the customizing the wastegate and piping is the pain. But what part of moding isnt!:D

once my shit is back together, im thinking about clocking my HRC 16g. i dont like the 90* bend in front of the head that they have. but i will have to at the very least custom up the piping and maybe the wastegate actuator as well.

I've got the HRC S16g. I was just gonna tack weld the wastegate acculator to the compressor. I don't wanna have to drill holes and tap them into the turbo. I might just cut some bolts and weld them to the turbo and then use some nuts to hold the acculator on. I'm not gonna have to remove it unless it breaks and if that happens I'm sure I'll have bigger things to worry about.
