I have an A'PEXi Turbo Timer and I didn't get the vehicle specific wiring harness and the instructions are only for the 4G63.
Q:Has anyone wired this up on there own? pics? tips? hints?

All the wireing is the same in the 4g63 so you can use the diagram. Also you could buy any harness made for the 4g63 and it would be plug and play. I used the greddy harness for the 4g63 car. The all you have to do is wire up the ground and the O2 sensor signal wire.

You dont need to idle for more than a minute or so. Modern turbos don't need time to cool off nearly as much as their older counterparts.

oh? The shop were I used to live said that after running it real hard to wait about 3 min. but if I don't boost at all that I can just turn it off... but not boosting isn't fun

If your seeing temps from 1400-1600 for any length of time, such as driving on the freeway, I would give it at least a minute to cool.

Just open the steering column and get to the ignition harness. Break out a fluke meter and test the pins to find which one come when you turn the key to each spot. Then wire them according to the pinouts on the TT instructions.

I got apexi harness and I was not wired properly, I had to switch 2 wires to make it work. Simptoms of this would be the hvac fan will not come on when you turn the car on.

hook it up to the ecu's o2 wire.

and how do i find the ecu's o2 wire?
the timer is now installed and working except for the o2 sensor functions

do you mean that the hvac fan will not come on while it is timing, or when you are driving around the hvac fan wont come on.

The hvac won't come on at all if you get the same busted wireing harness I got.

phew. mine comes on. i was thinking that maybe the fan was supposed to come on while timing to cool the engine down, i dont think mine does. alright, everyone, please proceed with your regular scheduled broadcasting.

If you had to switch two wires, then you have a 1G harness, not a busted harness. I had the same problem, myself. I fixed it the same way, too.

Yeah when I got mine apexi did not have one for the 2g only the 1st gen. I assume it's still the same. The greddy harness will work correctly. The O2 wire is under the wire cover on the ECU I believe it is the white wire with the black stripe in the top portion of the harness. If you search on the board it has been discussed. That way you'll know for sure because I don't want to steer you wrong.
