ok, I'm driving home and floor it like usual. Car pulls like hell through first and during the shift to second It felt like it got stuck with the throttle closed. I let off IMMIDIATLY.

First I thought my IC (well turbo to TB pipe;( ) might have slipped off agian and It just bogged agian. I touch the throttle lightly and I have boost. ok, not piping. I get on it agian and everything seems good, no oil leak EGT's ok I'm not leaking fuel.

Get home let her cool down and check the exhaust no more smoke than usual (no cat or anything else for that matter and it's cold out)

Everything seems fine. Any ideas?:shrug

From what I have learned with detonation.. You should be able to hear it. Ive been told it sounds like little bb's shaking around in a coffe can. you would be able to hear it. unless you have your stereo up that is :shrug And I agree that that is what it sounds like.. cause when matt tuned my car.. we heard it for a split second before I let of the gas.. so yup. A little bit should be ok.. and if you let off right away and thats what it was then you should'nt be worried. Now im not a pro.. But are you getting enough fuel at boost? if not.. try turning your fuel pressure up.. hope this helps.. and anyone please correct me on all this if im wrong.. Im still in the learning stages my self. Thanks.

is a heart attack like detonation in the body? OH MY GOD! engines and turbos can be applied to everything.

seriously though, what were your fuel pressures? and/or a/f ratio?

fuel cut? any cels? could be fuel cut

Must have just hit boost hella fast and the ML didn't react fast enough I guess. It hasn't happend before or since. eh, CEL is always on and I would have to make a stop at Autozone to see what codes I'm pullin.

I do know another form of detonation is when the motor just starts to slow down no matter how much gas your giving it. Thats probably the most deadly form cause you don't hear anything just notice the RPMS are stuck or the car just seems to die on you. I've had that once and my stock pistons prove it. Chris has one as proof.

could be wrong but from what i understand detonation or pinging is a popping / hesitation sound

like your trying to go and its just like pop pop pop

only happens in teh upper rpms

Looks like fuel cut. You don't hear anything and the car doesn't accelerate with the gas pedal to the metal.

yeah B that sounds more like fuel cut or too much fuel and it bogged for a bit. you will hear detonation, hehe i had plenty of it at the meet :)
