62406, well finally motor went! Posted by actingrezy, Dec-19-03 04:50 AM
well i have been running 10psi for about the past year and a half maybe or close to it and over the weekend my boost spiked to like 15 then a few minutes later the oil light flashed on car starts putting and the famous white smoke exhaust boy it stinks too. thats sucks i think i either blew a ring or headgasket. i have the parts for a rebuild but i dont know where to get it done at. the last place quoted me at 1900 man thats alot. if anyone can pull a motor or knows somewhere good that can do a rebuild let me know im in northern delaware. well just wanted to let yall know that you cant run 10psi forever on stock internals

I had my block machined at Jess Miller's Machine Shop - http://www.jessmillermachineshop.com/ He's up here in West Chester, PA. I assembled my own short block because, well, thats the fun part - but they assemble short blocks as well. They do all the machining for Forward Motion down there in Delaware, so he already has a torque plate for the 420a. I had the block bored .060 over, deck milled, line bored, they race balanced the rotating assembly(crank, rods, pistons, bearings, pins, rings, etc.), and cleaned the block. The work was top notch and they're really nice guys to deal with as well.
