62088, removing the stock FPR Posted by cseithel, Dec-12-03 12:29 PM
would it be ideal to remove the stock FPR altogether when I have the vortech s-fmu (That comes with the star stage 2 right?)? Is that what I am supposed to do or can I have the stock FPR still hooked up? The STAR instructions are so unclear. If so how do I hook up the s-fmu in the new setup, how do I bypass the stock FPR. I have a 97 gs with star stage 2. Thanks

you can leave the stock fpr. the sfmu works with your stock fpr not instead of it.... unless you really want to remove it then more power to you.

damn dude.. you really dont know what you are talking about here..
the star kit comes with the fmu, you need to keep the stock fpr. if you have an sfmu which the star kit doesn't come with, then you need to remove the stock fpr.

the fuel management unit that comes with the STAR kit is not a SFMU, it is its younger brother, the FMU. you NEED the stock fpr with this unit. you will be teeing in a vac line from that stock fpr to the FMU.
