I'm not the best computer guy but I have a pcmcia card port. You have to make sure the name of the port is com 1, com 2, com 3, or com 4. I have also found it works better when the name is com 1. If the port is not named right it will give no connection errors. Is that what you are getting?

Yes, be sure you have the right port setup. I have also heard of people not having success with the adapters. May want to try a port replicator, it may work. Let us know how you figure it out, because I plan to use the 034 also, and my new Dell laptop does not have a serial port...I'm just getting into the laptop scene, but not sure if they make a serial port card to use in the laptop's expansion port slot..

Well if you cant get it to work, they do make serial pcmcia card adapters with a serial port..pricey though..around 125.00 bucks :(

They also make crappy laptops with serial ports that you can get on eBay for $20. Any compaq or HP early 90's era sub-notebook works wonderfully. Plus you never have to worry about it being stolen or smashing into your passenger door during a high G turn.
