when I start my car cold, my vacuum is fine (-20 Hg), but after a few minutes, like 2 or 3, of regular driving, my vacuum starts to tick, ever so slightly. I also have to tell you that I have a 97 turbo gs. Also when my vacuum is fine it runs fine, but as soon as it starts ticking, i run lean, even with 3,4,5,6,7 psi. it's driving me insane. Also, when I am driving and it is ticking, i just turn my key back one (car off while moving, still in gear) for a split second, and then back again (car on) and the ticking goes away, then 2 min. later it does it again. Blown head gasket? Please help because if I fix this then it seems as if I won't run lean anymore.

i have NO idea what the heck you're talking about. how does vaccum tick?

whats your vaccum at when your car's at operating temperature idling? it should be be between 18-20hg.

whats going on IMO is that our cars run rich at the beginning, thats why your car is ok when its not warm yet, and when it IS warm, its running lean. check the idle fuel pressure and get back to us

edit: that ticking is most likely knock, so check the fuel

idle pressure with stock injectors = 45-55psi (47 is perfect imo)

my idle fuel pressure is about 53 psi. I know that is normal, but is starts leaning out as soon as I boost, but not all the time. Most of the time. And it isn't with just high boost anymore. If I boost 5 pounds it sometimes runs lean. How can I just dump more fuel in to richen it up? Is the vortech s-fmu adjustable? What could be my problem?

do you have a fuel pressure gauge? is your fuel pressure rising as you are going into boost?
does it only tick under boost? does it seem to hessitate and loose power (fuel cut)?
and yes the sfmu is adjustable.

no, i don't have a guage yet, that is what is holding me back, i can only check at idle. It does not tick under boost. it will tick if i give just a little gas, but as soon as it is under a load, it stops ticking. how do you adjust the s-fmu? It doesn't feel like fuel cut at all, and it doesn't hesitate, it just feels like when i am going into boost, that the jolly green giant has got a hand on the back of my car, holding it back.
