im still considering boost as a possibility for my car during the summer and i was looking at gettin a mbc to save some money. i was searchin www.optauto.com and came across a greddy one and two hks ones. the greddy is the most expensive and the two hks's are under 100 and are universal, one has an internal wastegate and the other is external. here is the site.....

the last thing you need to think about, even before you turbo your car, is a boost controller. whatever stage kit, (besides 3+), the stock wastegate boost setting is more then fine.

you don't need a boost controller. Just set the factory wastegate and get a mbc after everything is all set. worry bout the turbo and instalation first. MBC's are easy to install and you shouldn't worry bout the mbc.

i disagree..the factory boost settings won't allow the car to fully boost up..the 7psi spring on both my deltagate and tial wastegate wouldn't hold over 4-5psi..not close to enough...had to get a MBC to get it to 8psi where it belongs..

fuck that crap.... just get the joe p. done deal.

If you put a MBC on your car with a new turbo kit and a stock motor your gonna blow it up. Trust me. Just make sure you have the wastegate adjusted properly and that you have a good signal line off the intake mani, not off the turbo compressor housing.

a mbc won't blow your engine up if you use it right. If you have the max at 7psi and like the min at 3 then it's not gonna go above 7psi no matter what. And if your spring on the actuator is getting 4-5 and you want 7 just get a different spring.

So your talking about a dual stage MBC, and sure you could do that but you would need to set your wastegate to open at 3 psi which could cause problems.

People using MBC tend to blow up thier motors either by setting it too high or getting greedy and crankin it up.

what is wrong with the compressor housing vac signal? isnt that why it is there?

i am not trying to prove you wrong, just looking for the facts.;)

i have the joe p manual controller. pretty cheap, and it works.

on a stock block you wont need one though. i put one on to run about 10 psi with the 8 psi wastegate and it was jumping up to 12, so i took it off until my rebuild.

controller really isnt necessary till youre built up! look into the joe p though, nice and inexpensive solution when youre ready.

ive gone 10k miles on my stock engine with the MBC installed the very same day as the turbo kit and still reading 205psi across compression...your only gonna blow shit up if you are greedy with it or don't install it right...
