I usually prime my fuel pump before starting the car as I'm sure most of you do. Whenever my car is sitting in the cold for a long time it takes about twice as long for it to prime. Do you guys get this too? And is there a reason why? It doesn't cause any problems, I'm just curious why it happens.

ummm I have the HRC inline and have never primed. Does this need to be done. Do you just keep the key turned to on without starting the car?

i prime it for maybe, 1-3 seconds. i turn it on for a sec to the aux part of the ignition, then on. no big deal. it seems like the motor is a happier that way imo.

it wont hurt the performance of the car if you don't but again, i find that the motor is happier when started this way.

And no dude, you don't have to prime it beforehand. I think it just helps fire up the car quicker.

I let it prime until it shuts off, then start the car.

The inline accell is a good pump, even better if you have an in-tank Walbro too! :thumbsup

Oh, and it primes slower when cold cuz your battery puts out less voltage when it's been sitting cold for a long time. Use a voltmeter somewhere (AWAY from the fuel lines and tank) and you'll see the difference.

Once I installed my 8 injector setup it takes longer for it to prime, probably because I have a lot of 6AN hose and 2 fuel rails now. If I havent started it in a few days ill turn it off and back on 3 or 4 times to prime all the way up.

i just don't understand the psysics on how running 2 fuel pumps would be better then just one. If they both pump 255lph then it's only gonna pump the 255lph through both pumps. I only have the walboro 255 and don't know if i should pay an extra 100$ for the accel inline.

I don't do it for flow rate, I do it for noise control. It kinda gives away the sleeper look when you roll up to the line squealing like a fighter jet.

When the accel tries to pull fuel from 0psi (tankside) to 20psi (railside) it sounds like a raped pig.

When the accell tries to pull fuel from 20psi (tankside thanks to the walbro) to 20psi (railside) things are muuuuuuch quieter.

Plus I know I never have to upgrade my fuel pumps ever again no matter what I do with the car.

lmao, ^^^^ all so very true. i run the same exact setup dan for noise control. i also just took some fatmat and decorted around my fuel pump housing in the backseat, either that or turn the music up a bit

but yea, when its timing down on the turbo timer its definately a whiny pig :P
