By mani he means a turbo manifold. Just get one made to fit the flange on the turbo.

You're not ready to be turboing anything. Read everything... EVERYTHING about turbos on this site and know what you're getting into before you start buying parts for a custom kit. Then decide what you want to do. :thumbsup

umm, wow... please do some research. No offense, really.. but it doesn't sound like you should be considering turbo at this point. Learn the parts, then learn to tune.

The guys above aren't trying to be harsh or anything, they are actually trying to protect you from blowing your car up.....read as much as you can, on everything turbo related, this way, you'll know fully what you are doing.....most people recommend prebuilt kits for those that aren't completely knowledgable to learn off of....but if you're goin custom, I highly highly, unless you like blowing shit up and spending wads of cash to get it running again, recommend doing as much research

as possible.:thumbsup

I know what a manifold is just like I know what cams pistons rods oil pumps and all thing related to a motor are I have been working on motors since I was 8yrs old. But yes the one thing I dont know that much about are turbos.ok with that said come on turbo gods teach me.But dont talk to me like a fucking noob or someone that think mufflerbearings are real. as for the frist post the prob i got to see it to day and it a 2.2 not a 2.0 as for the flanges the MANI has square and the collecter tube and for thoes that dont know what that is it's the down pipe any the are triangle not what i what to know is.I makeing about 180 to 200hp at the wheels whit the turbo off the probe what kind of a gains am I looking at

:wary, you sir are definately a n00b.

sounds to me like you found an IHI setup turbo, same kinda deal on the subaru's. we can't really tell you what kind of gains you will see, we have no idea what boost pressure you plan on running nor the size or the turbo. whats your bore and stroke?

workin on engines since u were 8? that doesnt really matter. i've been workin on engines since i was 16 (i'm 19) it all depends on who teaches you.

I was think 6 to 8 to start out with to be safe as far as what kind or what size the turbo is I still trying to find more info at the turbos used on the 92 2.2 probe GTs just a little more info about my car Whin i rebuilt the motor I bulit for a 100 to 150 shot of nos but i have change my mind and what to go turbo
61477, RE: This is for the Turbo guys

ok this is about all i can find out about the turbos use on the 90-92 ford probe GT's the turbo I think is Warner ISHI RHB52 VJ11.And I think that is just a family man for a group of turbos. The probe was frount intercooled and i think the turbo was all so watercooled for the look of the setup on the probe like i said I dont know that much about turbos and it was getting dark whin i got to look at the car this stuff would be comeing off of so if you guys could help me out with what i can use and can do with this turbo and part it would be a great help.the reason I doing a kind of custom setup it becuse i dont have 3000.00 dollors to spend on a kit.
61478, RE: This is for the Turbo guys
Posted by Mark, Nov-28-03 07:10 PM
O one more thing the probe ran at about 8 to 10lbs of boost
61511, RE: This is for the Turbo guys
Posted by SILVERNT, Nov-29-03 01:50 PM
ok

-use the turbo if you want
-get a turbo manifold made with the same flange as the exhaust side of ur turbo
-you will need to have a downpipe made to connect to your exhaust
-you will need piping to run from the compressor outlet(where the air comes out) to either an intercooler (side mount or front will do, gst/x or supra intercoolers are great) and then run piping from the outlet of the intercooler to your throttlebody with a blow off valve on the pipe that was mentioned.

Blow off valve:relives excess boost pressure when the throttle plate is closed. without a bov, the air will be forced backwards and cause the turbo to spin in backwards, thus causing compressor surge. there is a vaccum line that should go from the intake manifold to the bov that gives it a vaccum signal that opens the bov when the throttle plate is closed in the throttlebody

-you will need a fuel pressure regulator to raise pressure relative to psi (vortech sfmu s poplular, as well as the Chillfactory FPR) as well as fuel line
-youll need an oil line kit to supply oil to the turbo (gets fed from the back of the block
-oil return line-sends used oil to the oil pan for recirculation

As far as water cooling you need to find a coolant supply line and run that into the turbo and back into the coolant supply

as far as engine internals(pistons n shit) the stock head can remain without any problems

but you WILL BLOW UR MOTOR unless you build it, thats a given.
this is where alot of money is needed
youll need a full bottom end rebuild kit(pistons/rods/bearings/oilpump/piston rings etc) $1000+

do a SEARCH for turbo kit pictures youll find some setup ideas, i guarantee! the only reason i typed all of this out is because u asked. everyone was once a nooB, hell, i bet most of us didnt even know how to turbo a car before coming to this site that we call home, but now we do, because we asked. before i say welcome to the board theres a couple things:
-use the search
-our motors are different from gst/x's and nothing is shared from the motor
-you and us have a neon motor
-DO NOT PISS OFF DINO!(DarkOne95)
-dont be a postwhore
-Use punctuation, run on sentences are for 3rd graders
-AND FINALLY, WELCOME TO 2GNT!! :thumbsup

if i seemed like an ass, im sorry, i sometimes come off that way, please excuse my being Irish. :+

post pics of your car in the interior/exterior section i always like to see new members cars.

:cheers
