i finally finished buying my components, (top, bottom, and turbo). now i wanna start building....my question is what is the most someone has boosted on our stock crank???? my engine is gonna be rock solid (will post pics when finished)...i want to pull 400whp...that is the goal, and there will be no spray...i figure to do that i will probably have to boost 24-27 psi..keep in mind we're talking fully ported...input would be helpful....there aren't many 420 turbo's in hawaii, and most run stock internals so i really don't have much of a base to work off....

When i am done, i will be pushing about 20-25 psi. I've already got my whole motor built. I am currently running 10 psi but i am having fuel issues ATM.

I was running about 18 before I got fuel cut issues. That was even before I got bigger than stock injectors, fuel rail, and an s-afc! I'll add those, tune it out, then can probably push that much on some race gas. Internals have been upgraded along with turbo, as well as some porting.

I have run 20 psi with a stock crank and forged internals on pump gas. I have shitty tires so they were breaking loose in 3rd. x(

That stock crank is a beast. It'll take it.

Besides I don't know of anyone making their own crank.

FTY has a bulletproof custom forged stroker crank for our motors (check out the new domestic killer). I have run 22 psi multiple times now without an issue using 110 octane gas at the track. On pump gas, all I can get with no ping is 17 psi.

I was running 22-25psi daily on pump gas with the stock crank. Zero issues.

I run 20psi daily as well .. but thats on a 4g63.

Yep, on my 420a. I even tried 28psi once on race gas, but I was so far out of the effiency range of the s16g it didn't help very much.

Trust me 20 daily on the 420a crank is no problem. 18 on the 2.4L verion was daily and that crank is even less balanced than the 2L. When I built the engine I didn't balance it and was getting 7000revs everyday. Another good example would be Hahn which has dumped, what like 700hp for the last 4 or 5 years. I'm quite confident the Nodular Iron crank in our little 4 banger can withstand the punishment. The only thing that makes the custom forged steel better from FTY is the fact that it is made from steel molecules which have been pressed together. It makes it stronger than just about any other metal but the next closet thing to it would be cast iron which is heavier and cheaper. Maybe they will put together a forged crank for the 2.4L or destroke it it to 2.3L for a higher redline, say 9500 *hint hink winkl wink*
