60957, The "secret" HRC fuel system..... Posted by Nitrous_RS1997, Nov-19-03 06:13 AM
I havent been on here in a little, been REAL busy with work. anyways, did Bill ever come clean with his fuel setup when he ran the 10.XX 1/4 mile run? i thought i remembered seeing something about it coming out in November. thanks.

I'd be annoyed, but if they do something that doesn't involve a cartech, the wait is probably worth it.

I really dont care if its in the "testing phase" still. he could at least tell us generally what the hell it is. if it ends up sucking and he doesnt produce, oh well. but im in the market for one NOW. and details would make me hold out till he produces it. no details= me buying something else from somewhere else.

I SO AGREE! HRC, im in the process of buying one now also, and I'm going to be getting the sfmu. You'll lose my business if you dont act soon.
Edit: Someone should call them and let them know of this thread, and people post your opinion.

Same boat here. I've been running with the Craptech and I have to lower my fuel pressures almost everytime I've started the car over the past few days. I'm afraid soon I won't be able to lower it anymore!! I'm ordering an SFMU on Friday, but have been holding out since September waiting for HRC's new system. Damn them!

I've been waiting for this as well. I thought it was supposed to come out in July or something, maybe that's when HRC first posted about it?? Anyway, we're all still here waiting. I just want to eliminate that humb from the Accell in-line fuel pump. We should get a discount for waiting so long....:rolleyes

I wouldnt be suprised if it ends up being like the Stage 3 turbo kit, that was "coming soon" for almost 2 years straight. i understand totally that he doesnt wanna sell a product before testing it thoroughly. but, i mean, c'mon....at LEAST let us know what it is. whether it be an ECU re-program or whatever. ill probably give it till Christmas, then im installing a DFI.

OK,
After talking to one of the guys from Hahn today at the PRI show, this is what I can tell you:
1.) Mechanical rising rate fuel pressure regulator 2.) Idles perfectly 3.) Passed emmisions recently 4.) Hasnt been to the track since the 10.8x pass... 5.) Runs off the stock ECU
And thats about it... I know some of you may be disapoointed that there isnt anything more to it than that... but hey simple works... my setup proves that I'm running 19psi daily with just the craptech and 450cc injectors...

I have a custom resistor pack that helps out the injectors...:thumbsup haha.
And I do have an SAFC, but its only used for minimal fuel changes... I use it more when I want to adjust timing actually.... haha imagine that.
And My motor and injectors now have over 12,000 miles on them in the last few months... you see the eclipse is my daily driver.... I do over 50 miles each way to work....

61753, RE: my grand suggestion Posted by Nitrous_RS1997, Dec-04-03 05:20 PM
There are people running 440's on the stock ECU with a SFMU right now. i figured he was making us wait for something that was innovative. if you JUST use a device like a SFMU to lower idle pressure....and nothing else like a SAFC,Standalone, E-Manage....you are severely limited on your tuning capabilities.

I sincerely hope you have a backup car if you're running 19psi on that fuel setup with pump gas.

You know I highly doubt that this new solution will give the sort of tuning ability any of us hope. It will probably be some box (like the blue Greddy box) that will work for some injector size for a given turbo size. I couldn't imagine this being something where you can tune your fuel trim maps.
|
61769, RE: my grand suggestion Posted by turbo8u, Dec-05-03 10:23 AM
maybe a electronically controlled fuel map or something, over the stock one...? and probly a reistor pack with huge injectors (like 500cc's or something) imo :shrug
im sure we're all tired of guessing though, wtf HRC _________ 96 talon esi-t san clemente, ca

WTF???
Are you guys not listening to what I said above?
I was told one of the by one of the Hahn guys the information that I shared above...
I was told that is i mechanical, a rising rate fuel presure regulator, and that the car recentrly passed emisions...
I'm here at the PRI show in Indy right now where Hahn ha<[en to be at.... WTF? Does no one beliveve me or something? What do I have to publish a pic of me an the Hahn guys tomorrow?[br /> You know I'm getting really sick and tired of the closed minded people on this board.... I give up. I'll just run my shit and you people can see it whenever you people happen to run accross me in person...

61787, RE: my grand suggestion Posted by Avenger, Dec-05-03 05:35 PM
Uh ... they didn't tell you but we've already known all those components for a few months now. What they neglected to tell you is there little secret ingredient. Yes it runs a 1:1 FPR, yes it idles perfectly, yes it made the 10.xx pass, and yes it uses the stock ECU, BUT they didn't tell you what the hell the FICU does (which they didn't mention because it's the whole big DAMN SECRET THEY WON'T LET OUT!!!!), what it's requirements to run using, what injectors you can use with it, etc. etc.
Take a look at what you listed and think about it. Everyone and their fucking uncle uses a rising rate FPR (hell you do too and every turbo car on the planet does), almost all of us use the stock ECU, most of us have decent idle, but none of us run 10.8x (well how often does someone on here put on slicks anyway). The biggest reason we can't run 10s on the stock ECU is it won't take larger than 500cc injectors (most of the time we can't go past 440cc without idling like a pig rich mofo). There whole BIG SECRET is that missing component that lets you use BIGGER INJECTORS with a STOCK ECU without it throwing a tantrum. BIGGER INJECTORS needed to make MORE HP. MORE HP gives you better ETs (plus some damn good driving).
Think before you go accusing other people of not thinking something out.

Sorry... I was a little on the drunk side when I wrote my last comment....lol, I'd just got back from spending all night at Hooters... haha.
But anyways... Couldnt get any more info out of the HRC guys... but, the one guy.. whose name I wont mention did insist that there was no electronic parts involved.... he even mentioned that everyone is going to be surprised at how simple it all is...
But anyway... we shall see.

you guys make me laugh. There are people on this board with fuel setups from hell and dont come near running 10's I myself have 1300 invested in the fuel set up alone. I just set up dino's whole car as well. We both use a magna flow 1:1 regulator and a custom rail. I run an intank holley 255 that was made for a mustang back before they even made pumps for the eclipse. Its some truely trick shit. Dino has since gone to dfi I however am still running 440's with a safc. Thura talked about slicks, who on here runs slicks? If you guys wanna run a street car fast, you better invest in brakes. When you invest in brakes you can no longer fit a 14 or 15 inch tire on the car. The only thing you can do is get a 16 or 17 inch drag radial(which equals a shitty launch). Just my opinion late mike

61872, What it takes for 10.xx... Posted by MrSlick, Dec-09-03 08:27 AM
IT is funny that people are looking for the "secret" fuel setup to run 10.xx...
You all must realize that Hahn not only runs slicks, they also run a 150 nitrous shot... If you take the nitrous and the slicks out the picture then the car would be running in the 12/13 second bracket I am sure...
|
61873, RE: What it takes for 10.xx... Posted by Collente, Dec-09-03 08:48 AM
OK, with your fuel setup... Strap on 150shot and slicks and run a 10 second pass. :thumbsup

|
61986, RE: What it takes for 10.xx... Posted by Nitrous_RS1997, Dec-10-03 03:35 PM
i dont give a shit about their slicks, nitrous, or even times. i just wanna know how they are controlling bigger than 440cc injectors with the stock ECU. thats all. if it works, ill buy it, unless they dick around forever again...then ill just get a DFI and tune for the larger injectors.

61996, RE: What it takes for 10.xx... Posted by MrSlick, Dec-10-03 05:03 PM
The principal is easy really... you just need to modify the pulse width of the injectors at idle... you just need the circuit to do it... :thumbsup
There's already some people out there in the honda world doing just that... If I had time I'd build myself a box to do just that... but I got too many projects right now as it is...
