I'm just finishing my turbo kit and i bought a 3" intercooler with 3" pipes coming out. I was wondering if 3" pipes would be too big to put on or what size should i get. I can't wait until i finally can be boosting.:thumbsup

3" is to bit. you could do it but but you start getting into pressure drop and velocity issues. you really dont need/shouldn't go anything over 2 1/2in. most guys say 2 1/4. is just fine. i would recommend getting the inlet and outlet reduced.

i'm only gonna be running around 6-7 psi until i get my new fty engine then i'll be running like 20. Will 3" be too big to use running aroud 20 psi? I just don't want to have to upgrade anything.

If you're seriously going to be running 20 PSI and you're sure about it then go ahead and do 3". But ^^^^ is right... 3" is large for applications liek 7 PSI. Make sure you really are gonna be running huge boost, if so, you'll be ok.

Just remember.... I am assuming ur doing ur own custom piping. If so, the larger the diameter, the more expensive the bends are.
