First off, I have to thank EVERYONE here who helped me for the past 1 year. first comes the rebuilt of my g/f engine, now I finished my custom turbo kit installation. I can tell you, they are not easy!!! but for those non-turbo boyz, trust me, IT WORTHS EVERY PENNY OF IT!!!

It is so fun!

OK, I will cut the talking, and show you the finished pic of the turbo setup in my car and also a 1min long movie clip of test driving. BTW, I took over 200 pictures of everything I did during the turbo setup. So if you are interested, let me konw, and I try to upload all of them to show you all!

The welding looks pretty good, Just one question. Hows that radiator line doing? and those AC ones? Trust me a 20 foot stream out the side of your car due to a blown AC line is not a relaxing event lol. Just a tip.


edit: just saw the vid. Man you live in the boonies must be easy ti find tunning space lol.

I noticed that your engine temp gauge rises a bit when you boost. Keep on eye on that. Everything else looks good.

you may not be getting enough fuel to keep the egt's down, but you may also be running so super rich that your egts are just flyin. trial and error, granted, careful trial and error, no need to blow up what ya got now.

OK, so you guys saying, if I am super RICH, The EGT will rise HIGH also?
See, I did alot of search already, and this question was asked before but not very clearly answered.

Lean: EGT rise Very High quickly, A/F Reading is below .88 WOT
Little Rich: EGT rise to lower temp, A/F Reading is around .92 WOT
Super Rich: EGT rise very high quickly (like Lean), A/F reading is above .92 WOT

Am I correct above? But I don't get is, how can super rich will result in even higher EGT? shouldn't it be even lower?

Coz right now, when I do WOT at 6PSI, my Fuel Pressure goes to 70-80PSI and my A/F reading is at 1.045
What should I do to fix my fuel?

**EDIT** BTW, that A/F gauge took me 3 hours to cut the perfect hole and put it in...and another 2 hours to put everything back and about 30mins - 1 hour to figure everything and working. But it comes out really clean and STOCK feeling. Now everyone who gets onto my car is like, "what's that number? Nitrous? or you have a jet engine inside?" LOL. Definitely great and easy for tuning!

The installation of the A/F Gauge into my Cluster




I custom weld this DP for my 16G to my stock Exhaust





I want to keep the Bumper reenforcement, so I buy this brand new FMIC off Online, and it fit perfectly for our Eclipse!









I redone the Fuelrail to make it like a BRAND NEW fuel rail









This oil line is completely Stainless Steel, so it won't melt or any sort of problem causing by the heat of the DP.

I put the hole as high as I can so I am sure the oil can return back to the oil pan from the turbo







This is the support arm for my turbo to the engine block. This way the stress on the Exhaust Manifold is kept to the MINIMUM.







I custom made it so it is adjustable PSI and the length is also custom welded due to my rotation of the turbo.





I hope the above will help the future people to do their custom turbo kit.... I have MORE pictures..but the above is my selected best ones!

well I think think being too rich is in the mid ninety range. Mine use to run in the plus 1.0V and the EGTs were still low.

by temps I meant your coolant temperature too. just ever so slightly though.

OK....does anyone else has some opinion on this super rich situation?

$95 included shipping.
Those 6 pipes included the made of my intercooler piping and my downpipe... so it's GOOD DEAL!

BTW... no one can give me some feedback on the above questions ^^^^ about the EGT temperature and over rich etc?

Well I would turn the fuel pressure a little bit and play around.... see if a little less fuel bring the EGTs down. Then that would mean there is indeed afterburn (too much fuel getting burned later on). Otherwise someone else help him out.. I dont know that much either.

Do you have the right SFMU disk in? Does the A/F get leaner as you boost?

Your car is really clean and you get points for doing a custom install. Do you have a total cost for the custom job so we could compare to STAR or HAHN kits? :thumbsup

Well, I spent total of $2600 for everything!
DEFINITELY WAY cheaper then any Hahn or Star kit.
And my setup is good to Stage III. all I am missing now is rebuild my engine.

I have Vortech SFMU, Walbro 255HP, 30lb Injectors, S16G Turbo, Speacro FMIC, SS BOV, 4 gauges.

S16G = $500
Speacro FMIC = $400
HKS SS BOV = $195
Digital A/F Gauge = $195
Greddy EGT Gauge = $150
Boost & Fuel Gauge = $80
SFMU = $380 (bought two...sigh... have an extra sitting in my toilet)
Walbro 255HP = $100
30lb Injectors = $160
Others like piping, hose, fuel filter, pillar, etc..

But trust me... even thou the cost is the same as a Stage II Star Or a Stage I Hahn but my parts are WAY BETTER.

BTW, all the parts above are BRAND NEW..so not used.
And if you buy those kit, you don't ge SFMU, injectors, Speacro FMIC, HK SS BOV, 4 guages, turbo support arm, stainless steel oil line, etc.... So if you get those Turbo Kit, you have to at least put $1000 or more to make them to my spec. And if you get a Stage II Hahn Kit, it cost you $3200 + $1000 for other upgrades to my spec... total of $4200. I only spent $2600 so with the other money, I can rebuild my engine and I DFEINITELY have better setup... coz everything is custom and took me 4 months to do everything.

rebuild the bottom end of the engine,
Then I can just turn the nut (my custom WasteGate) and it goes to 10PSI.. then buy a Boost Controller and goes to 14PSI =)

But I won't do that till Summer... =( ($$$ issue)

Just as a precaution, I saw that in one of your pictures you have a blue line hooked up to a fuel pressure gauge. I hope that this hose is a rubber fuel injection hose and not a silicone hose. Fuel does not play nicely with silicone.

Out of all the pictures I posted and have myself (over 200) I didn't post any pictures of the INTERCOOLER pipes after Finished.....WHY???
coz I am so FUCKING stupid..and took pictures of EVERYTHING but forgot to take pictures of the pipes....

BUT DON"T WORRY.... I will take everything off this weekend, bumpers, turbo, pipes..and I will do a FULL insulation on my IC pipes (pure fiberglass) so the air from the IC to the pipe to intake will be no higher then outside temperature minus the FMIC cooled air. SO NICE. second, I will insulate all the DP, exhaust manifold and so on...
So at that time...I WILL NOT forget to take 50 picture of the IC pipes... so don't woryr, I will post the picture by this weekend.

And trust me..out of the whole custom turbo kit..I think my IC pipes are the one thing that I am MOST PROUD OF..

One single pipe from turbo to FMIC, one single pipe from FMIC to intake.... so no way of leaking, and it fit PERFECTLY in my car... and still have my bumper reenforcement! (I am just proud of it)

Well, I just took off the valve cover, clean everything, and change valve gasket and spark plugs

(I HEARD I need gap of .29-.32) i am correct?

ANYWAY, by this Sunday, I will post MORE NEW pictures... you guys will love it!!!
This weekend, I will do the following! (just spent $200 buying insulations)

-fully insulate IC pipes with full fiberglass insulation
-wrap all outside fiberglass of the IC with Thermo-shield tape
-Wrap exhaust manifold with 2 layers of exhaust wrap with HT silcone alumimun spray.
-Wrap the DP also.
-Change spark plugs
-painted my engine Valve Cover to yellow.
-Make my engine compartment kick ass looking.
-fix my rear muffle noise at 1000K RPM

Those are my objectives for this weekend! Can't wait... and I know you guys can't wait to see my engine bay again this weekend!
