Can someone post pix of the intercooler inside the fender? I want to see how you mounted it. Is it possible to mount it with-out rotating the outlets?

Note, this is a 1G SMIC, which are similiar, but not exact. This is an awkward view, and probably wont help much, but it's the only pics I got.

so there is enough room to mount it with the endtanks on the sides instead of top/bottom like they do on stock gs-t/x. Is it working ok with just the rubber piping? How much boost you pushing?

I am running around 7.5 psi. Those rubber pipes are from the 1G. They seem to be working fine.

I'm doing 5-10/10.5 psi with no intercooler. I need that bad boy mounted asap :P
Any suggestions? I hear I really need to run ducting to the intercooler because of a lack in airflow.
any other pix? Did you have to drill additional holes in the frame to mount it?

Yeah man you are really pushing things running that much boost with no intercooler. Be careful and get that thing mounted soon! Mine is attached to frame pieces using aluminum brackets from Home Depot and self tapping metal screws. I didn't run any ducting, but then again the holes in the sides of my blitz bumper are huge and expose almost the entire front of the I/C.

In SOME (older?) 2gnt's, you have to drill out the frame a little bit, below the fusebox.
Wasn't necessary on my 99, the big hole was there already.

Yeah that was the case in my car. I just decided to run the pipes elsewhere.

Go to JCwhitney and get some mandrel bends. Thats the cleanest and best but a little more expensive. Nick 97RS

Yes, the top pipe is a AEM short-ram intake with the filter off. The rubber piping I used was OEM piping for a 1G Eclipse, sent to me with that SMIC. The rest of the piping we located locally, at auto parts stores. It's just a temporary pipe setup that works well. In the future, I will buy various mandral bends and have them welded together for a very clean, professional look. Will be awesome :)
