60359, Installing NOS Wet kit, problems with purge and electrical install. Is my pic is right? (Kinda Long) Posted by elude, Nov-08-03 05:11 PM
Alright, got pretty much everything mechanical installed, solenoids, switches, etc. But im having a problem with my purge and electrical setup right now. I currently have the Ignited Illuminated Purge button, and a two connector switch for my master Arming. I was running into the problem where i wanted my purge button to activate when I flipped on my Master Arming Switch. I tried the setup and blew several fuses. My dilema is that my purge button has three options for the purge operation: C NO NC I have no idea what they mean, or where to connect them. I already emailed Ignited Performance and am awaiting an answer. Does my purge system have to have its own switch? Like to arm just the purge system, and then a seperate switch to arm the Nitrous system? Or can everything be off my one Master Two connector arm switch? Heres a picture of my setup, can anyone tell me if its wrong? Thanks guys.

i have a dry system with a purge, but it is the same thing basically, here is how i set it up, the ground for the purge soleniod (ps) goes to, you guessed it, the ground, the second wire goes to the purge button, another wire from the purge button goes to the 12v source, when you push the buton the solenoid sees power and activates, now you have a illuminated button so you would have 2 additional wires, one to a ground and one to a accessory power source, one that only comes on when the power to the car is on, you have from your diagram, the arming switch hooked up correctly, but the purge switch should not be connected to the micro switch, the arming switch completes a circuit, it is NOT a pos. and negative hook-up, it sounds like you are trying to get the system to purge when you activate the system by using the micro switch, the micro-switch only comes into play when at WOT, not when you arm the system, but you have it hooked up to supply power soon as you hit the arming switch, and that is what is blowing fuses. Here is my suggestion for the button, you have the illumination hooked up right, but use a test light and a 9 volt battery to figure out what the nc no c leads are for, and just connect the 2 that are 12v power lead and the lead that gets that 12v power when you hit the button. Overall your setup looks OK, but the 2 lines leading from the purge soleniod, in your diagram, are alittle frightening, the purge soleniod and button system is totally seperate from the NOS system itself, and imo, should be wired that way.

N.C. means normally closed N.O. means normally open

I don't think the green wire from the relay goes to a ground. The diagram I have shows it goes to one lead on the WOT and the other wire goes to ground. Am i right or wrong. I don't know about the lighted purge button though. As the other guy posted the regular NOS push button purge switch is connected like he described. I haven't installed my purge kit yet the time I did it before i had a leak and couldn't get my WOT mounted right so i used my push button switch to activate the nitrous. Worked fine for me.

so anyone know which lead (N.C. N.O. C) goes to the 12v source, and the nitrous purge line from the purge solenoid?

The C means common. The batt.+ goes to the C and the purge wire goes to the N.O.
