Can you tell me how you ran the vacuum lines? I have the installation instructions, but they are unclear about the wastegate lines. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

More specifically, did you use both ports on the wastegate? I am only using the side port now with my MBC. I am just wondering if I have to use both ports with the E-01. Thanks.

i dont know the setup of the E-01, but i am pretty sure you only use the vac port with boost controllers.

Boost port. With an MBC, you don't use the vacuum port.

Ok, I do not have a scanner near me and the problem I am having with the instructions is, it says to run a line from a pressure source (manifold for me) to one port on their stepper motor. Then a line from the motor to the TOP wastegate port. In the diagram the side wastegate port has a line running from it to something. I can not see what the something is. It is not labeled or anything. So what could the side port possibly be running to? That is the confusing part.

Does it cover that further along in the instructions?

I have the e-01, but i have it hooked up to an internal wastegate. The only reason I can see that it is set up that way would be that the lower port goes to the same boost source as the upper port. The solenoid is a unit that opens and closes at whatever duty cycle you put in. i would think it would work like this. When the solenoid is not doing any regulating the pressure above and below the wastegate diaphram is the same say 10 psi. so if the wastegate is sideways it would look like
10psi | 10 psi the (|) being the wastegate diaphram. say the left side is the upper port chamber and the right side is the lower port chamber. what happens is the solenoid starts to cycle for boost control and then the wastegate would look like this 8psi | 10 psi therefore opening the wastegate. You could just run the lower port and set it up like an internal wastegate setup and i think that wil work too. but it seems like the way they tell you to set it up may give you better boost control. hope this helps
