right now i have the garret t-2small turbo (t-28) just curious, would i have to upgrade other parts of the turbo kit if i just upgraded the turbo to say a big 16g? if so, what parts and what parts do u suggest? also, if i did upgrade to the big 16g, what power gains would i be looking at? just the turbo, not upgrading intercoolers or anything else....thanx..

maybe the oil drain line and oil feed line fittings.. thats about it.

Not really by itself. Supporting mods will really wake up a bigger turbo. Internal, etc

I'm assuming that you are running on stock internals and injectors.

someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that a t25 can flow above what our stock internals can handle. they boost quickly, and I have heard that they can boost upwards of 15lbs (?) IMO if you already have the t25 and want to increase your power, concentrate on building an engine that can handle the power and a fuel system that will be able to keep up with a higher boost.

He said T-28, um isn't that better than a big16G? Who makes a big16G manifold for a 2GNT? :wary confused

Very very true, no need to go with a bigger turbo, your only going to have more lag. It will not make the car any stronger since there is still a limit on the amount of boost you can run and now it will be even less since the t28 compressor flows more than a t25. With a built engine, you can infact use all the boost a 25 can make and then more and need more turbo, with a stock motor, not even close.

so what do u guys suggest i get for my garret then? start with pistons? if so what pistons? size...just wanting to know most about my car as possible...thanx fellas

just go and get the whole bottom end rebuild kit from howell. it will have anything you need to run above 10psi.
if you need any more info on it there are tons of posts what pistons are considered stronger, what compression ratio, etc, etc.
