man the turbo manifold i bought from motofool cracked and its been on my car for about 1month and half its cracked at the collector the manifold is constructed good on the flanges pretty thick but the collector is really weak thin metal from what i can tell. man my turbo almost fell off thatz how bad it is. does anyone know motofools email address his website is not working. who else makes manifolds for a t3t4 let me know asap.man i'm so pissed right now . i should of just bought a star manifold. i'm gonna see if this guy in town can fabricate put a thicker collector on this manifold.

Do you have a picture of that manifold ? I want to be sure that you don't have one of the 4 manifolds that I did for Motofool

As far as the cracked manifold. Does the downpipe have a flex section? because if it doesn't it is probably the cause of the cracked mani.

Probably just a crap manifold. if it's one of Alain's, i retract that statement and consider it a fluke.

No, Alain said in another thread something like he was really unhappy making that manifold to Motofool specs, and would never do it again. I think even if it is Alain-made, he won't be suprised it failed.

We should take a poll on how many NER and GT manifolds are still alive or have cracked.

If the flange looks exactly like this it's one of mine

this flange was draw on ACAD by a friend of mine so it's exclusive
with 3 angles on the sides, and you don't see it much on that picture, but on the lower left corner (upper left on that pic since it's upside down) there's a round corner to make space for the thermostat housing while the opposite corner is a straight line

My HRC manifold cracked twice. The first time I just had a guy weld accross the crack. this time I am pulling the manifold and havign it reinforced. It cracked right along the weld where the turbo is held on and it meets the 4 runners.

I have been using my hahn manifold for almost a year now, no prbolems yet. But it does have a small leak on the turbo side flange on the mating surface.

I have a flex section but no support bracket. Didnt even know there was a support bracket.

i have an open atomosphere downpipe straight down. I don't know if this is one of alains manifolds but here is a pic.check out the big ass crack you can see thru the wall() here is the bottom pic() here is the pic of the flange i don't know if its your alain () the desing is good but the collector is weak. from what i understand a collector for the logstyle manifold should be atleast 1/8 inch thick this is no where near that thick. man my car is gonna be down till i resolve the problem. i'll give u a call tommorrow Bill but i can't wait another 3 months for a replacement. i didn;t know alain made manifolds for you. not sure on that()

Not to bust in on the thread either, but Alain, the manifold you made me a couple of years ago is just now starting to show signs of wear. I have one crack about an inch long inbetween runner #2 and #3 on the top part of it.
Pretty good for somthing I have hammered on for 2 years..it has also seen 3 engines :).

I expected some cracks with times, specially in the first batch of 5 that we made years ago when we used to grind the weld , which we don't do anymore, we also don't cut the pipes the same way now
Of those 5 you have one, Tin has another one, one is on an ASOG car one was never installed and the last one I never heard of it since the sale

to repair a crack the best way is to grind it bigger than the crack itself and weld it back with MIG or TIGwhile bolted on the car

A manifold like you want is $325 and I need to get a wastegate flange from the buyer first

Mine is still going well. After I got rid of that POS downpipe and replaced it with a 3in Chill Factory unit my power curve was forever changed :cheers

I will replace the manifold in time and get a chill factory unit. There is just no compareson.

we'll good thing we got good shops out here in Socali. I took the manifold to turboperformance van nuys. and the guys there cut the collector out and replaced it with a speacial collector designed espeacialy for the log manifold with a new flaNGE and, brace for added support. they charged me only 65dollars. These guys are good. they guranteed it won't crack now at the collector. i'm impressed they did a real good job. and to bill motofool you need to go with a different supplier for your manifolds inspect the collector make sure there atleast1/8 inch thick.

dang that's pretty bad. Good thing I got the Beefy STAR Log :thumbsup

look at those tiny exhuast ports. I wish chrysler beefed em up a bit more.
