i was just wondering if cold plugs are really necessary with a stage 1 setup. i have been using colder ones, the car seems to run ok when the plugs are new for a week or two and then it seems like it loses power. just looking for some insight, and yes i searched.

Colder plugs foul easier. I would say they aren't necessary unless you're running higher boost. I run 15psi on normal heat range plugs.

Are you checking the gap? If the gap is wrong the boost will blow out the spark easier. They might work ok when they are new because they dont have any corrosion on them yet.

Yes, they make the car run like shit when they foul. Colder plugs burn "colder" so it takes more heat to make them burn cleanly.

what about a stage one low comp set-up running at 10-11 psi on a ported head? I'm not sure if I need to keep playing with my fuel or if I should change the plugs and run cooler ones.
My current plugs have to fouled to crap. I had her running WAY WAY too rich for a long time. Whatcha guys think?
