Is a downpipe supposed to be included with the HRC stage 2 kit? There is part of one right above the intercooler. That normal?



So what gives with this? Does the wastegate just dump back into the regular exhaust flow inside the turbine housing?



Well, its supposed to be a 20g, but it says 16g. would it say 20g if it were?

My custom kit thats for sale will be getting organized this weekend. i will have all details of whats included and whats involved since its a custom job (ie. some metal cutting to get sidemount plumbing to work, Downpipe weirdness, etc.) So for all those who were interested, INFO COMING VERY SOON!!!!!

Im not sure on the turbo. But I do know that they clamp the dp to the stock dp. A lot of people just go have it welded cause the clamps blow.

IMO, i think you should swap the SFMU for yourself from your custom kit with the cartech from HRC instead of selling the SFMU.

Yeah, thats the wastegate outlet. I don't think it should be welded shut unless your using an external wastegate. Good find dude!!

LOL that's the HRC "downpipe." you cut the OEM downpipe about 2" down from the factory flange and clamp that new thing on. trust me. it's a crappy idea, and it flows not-so-great, but it's cheaper and easier to produce than a real downpipe. personally, i had a 2.5" turbo-back exhaust welded to the end of the HRC downpipe, and it works well now.

if you look inside of the exhaust housing, you will see the wastegate flapper thingy itself. it dumps out the wastegate gases into the area after the exhaust turbine and it just kind of all goes out the downpipe.

yes, judging by the size of the compressor housing and the markings, i think it's safe to say that is a 16G. talk to your supplier if you were suppose to reciveve a 20G.

Everything that is "better" stays with me!! SFMU, BOV, etc. or if its universal like my oil fittings set-up and fuel system and such.

My current one is a custom kit. Not very interchangable with other stuff, plus its an Upgrade!!! Plus its a $3500-$3900 kit for $2300 to my door! BRAND NEW!!!

ah, i think i know what you're doing. are you planning on selling your custom kit? for a complete working used custom kit, you'd probably get about $1000-1200. $2300 (what you paid for your new HRC stage 2+ kit) - $1200 = a $1100 hit for a REALLY good upgrade.

Can I ask how you got it sooooooo cheap? or is it TOP SECRET?

u guys sure that it isn't a 20g with a diff housing? i know you can upgrade them things. and as far as it being $3900....are you serious? i hope not.

I am 100% sure that turbo is a super 16G. I know this because I had both super 16G and 20G.

Also I just took them apart last week so I know exactly how they look. The super 20G had a lot bigger compressor housing and it should be TD06 not TD05.

Try use search and find some pictures of super 20G and you can easily tell the different of compressor housing size.

your int wastegate shouldn't be welded... i think that is set up for a external wastegate.... make sure you check that before you install it

The flapper is on the inside of the turbine housing. take off the WG actuator arm and make sure it opens and close before installing.

Otherwise, that is an extremely awsome find.

Naw, its cool. It was just one of those lucky finds. Found it on DSMtrader.com. The sad part is that the kit belonged to a guy who was killed in a crash before ever getting it mounted. It sat in his parents garage for 9 months and they asked a friend of his to sell it for whatever. Thats how i got it for such a great price.
